Located at the Guertel near the new main train station, this hotel does not deserve its elegant name. It certainly passed its best years and looks like was newer renovated since the 60s. The rooms are small and run down, the bathroom does not invite to perform more than the quickest possible routine. Positive to mention is the view in...

A basic hotel with clean but old fashioned amenities. Location is good as it's only 5 mins walk away from the Main Station. We did not have much of view though as there seems to be lots of construction going on right in front of the hotel (across the main road). The breakfast selection could be improved on.

Hotel is across the road from the train station and next to the Belvedere. Subway is 5 minute walk away. Even though it is listed as 4* it is inexpensive and is not remotely 4*. The rooms are small and pretty worn down. Breakfast is basic.

This hotel is clean and tidy but a little old fashioned. A small reception area close to lifts and our room was facing the front street on the 7th floor and although it is a very busy thoroughfare the sound proofing was excellent and you could not hear any traffic unless you opened the door which led to a small...

Hotel is nice and clean. Just 5 mins from Vienna central railway station and tram/bus stops that take you to the city centre. Breakfast is good but the spread is not very large. Rooms are not very big but good enough of 1 or 2 guests. Our room was facing the main road but there was no noise in the...

We really liked our staying at Prinz Eugen and would definitely go again. The rooms are a little bit old fashioned and the furniture seems to be passed its good days, but overall it didn't affect us negatively. The bathroom is quite small, with a very small bathtub. Breakfast is really nice and diverse, having crepes every morning. :) Hotel...

The hotel is situated very close to the station. While the city centre is a bit far away -2-3 km, it is completely walkable. The room we got was clean and nice. The best part was the balcony which overlooks the station. You also get to have a good view of the office going traffic. There are quite a few...

We stayed here for 7 nights end August. The location is great. The hotel is only a few minutes away from Vienna's main railway station and from the nearest Underground station (U1). The hotel itself is clean, the rooms are nice and sufficiently furnished - though the TV set is pretty outdated. The hotel is very affordable. All members of...

Great location, very close to central station, breakfast great, cute comfy rooms. Staff also very great and accommodating. Just a few blocks from Belvedere Mansion also. No complaints whatsoever. Adorable Viennese hotel.

Staying in Wieden

Neighbourhood Profile
The fourth district combines elegant tradition with contemporary style and relaxed living. More than a dozen town palaces and churches such as St. Charles Borromeo have added glamour to a neighbourhood known for its traditional retail and crafts shops, taverns, cafés. Wieden is also home to Naschmarkt, Vienna’s largest street market. Many bohemian types have found their way to Wieden: meet them in trendy cafés and bars, shop alongside them for vintage items, enjoy Wien Museum’s and Kunsthalle’s modern temporary exhibitions, and hang out with the bees at Vienna’s most beautiful urban garden, Karlsgarten.

“If you have a problem sleeping with road noise, you might not want to choose a standard room, since they face the road. However, there are heavily insulated windows to block the noise. I have no idea if it was noisy, since I can sleep through an air raid.”
