Lovely hotel. The hotel's facade is not wonderful looking but the inside of the hotel makes up for it. Specially our room. Beautifully and freshly decorated (vintage/retro style). Light, clean and spacious. One of the best hotel beds I've slept on. Our bathroom was spacious, clean and with a great power shower. The wi-fi was super fast and the TV's...

I really can't fault this hotel. The staff were unfailingly helpful and cheerful. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty and the option of coffee and cake in the afternoon as part of your deal is excellent and a fine Viennese tradition. Once you've madtered the back streets you can be in Stephansplatz in a few minutes and the tram and...

I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the capricorno hotel and can not recommend this place enough. Although first impressions of the hotel's exterior are slightly underwhelming, from the moment you enter it soon becomes clear why this place has attracted so many glowly reviews. Positives 1) Great location - 10mins walk to centre and 5mins to...

We stayed at the Hotel Capricorno for 3 nights and I only have 1 word to describe it - Awesome. The hotel was only 5-10 minutes walk from the city centre, a 1 minute walk to the nearest train station exit (Schwedenplatz). The staff were very friendly and willing to give advice on directions. Our rooms were kept very clean,...

We spent 4 days in Vienna, staying at the Hotel Capricorno. The hotel was only 5 minutes walk from the city centre, and suited our needs perfectly. We chose to upgrade to a larger room with balcony (well worth the small extra cost). Good decision! The staff were very pleasant and the room spotless and well serviced daily. Breakfast was...

I did huge amounts of research as I was in charge of booking 3 nights away with 3 friends - all of us 60+ ladies. I wanted somewhere very central with quality beds & bed linen, nice furnishings and breakfast included. All of us cannot recommend the Capricorno more highly. The staff led by Claudia were so helpful and friendly...

There's a little brochure in the hotel room with a small charter of guiding aims and attitudes of the staff/management. You see these in many businesses but often the claims are vague, ridiculous, vapid or contrary to what you experience. Not so at the Hotel Capricorno. The atmosphere among staff is palpably cooperative, friendly, joyful even. Whether reception, cleaning or...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

The 42 rooms, many of them with balcony, designed in many strong colors, are all air-conditioned and offer a tablet with information and WLAN - in addition to the free WLAN throughout the hotel and Sky programs on flat-screen TVs. Its central location directly at Schwedenplatz makes it possible to reach everything quickly. You can walk to St. Stephan's Cathedral in just five minutes. The underground and trams, as well as the landing stage of the Twin City Liner are right outside the door. Cars can be parked securely in the garage.
