Nice budget hotel in Margaretenstraße, with small and neat rooms, good service and a huge spread buffet breakfast. The buffet was quite over priced around 20 euros where as you could grab a better deal and a better spread at 10 minutes walk from this hotel. Very nice hotel and apt for a short business stay. I had stayed here...

Hotel was clean and well located. The room and especially bathroom terribly cramped. Perhaps due to being situated on the top floor, the walls in the bathroom were slanted -- inward. That meant that using the toilet one would bang his head on the adjacent wall. And leaning forward to flush the toilet, one would bang his head on the...

Stayed here for 4 nights and had a great stay. Our room did face the courtyard and was very quiet. Comfy bathtub with shampoo and soap. The front desk was great and it was busy. This hotel could use a full time concierge service at times. We were with two other couples and everyone was happy with their room. We...

This is a pretty standard Holiday Inn-style hotel, which is both good and bad. The good is that you get a modern, clean hotel with decent facilities. The bad is that it's just not a European-style hotel experience, if you compare it with (say) an equivalent-level Accor hotel like an Ibis, you get free, high-speed Internet at the Ibis while...

We were there late January 2014. The lobby. was under remodeling so the used and improvised front desk through a side entrance. Despite their constrains, service checking in and out was good. The had a serious wifi problem which at the time they seem to not know or pretend they did not know. They said I was the first person...

Good location and excellent customer service. The hotel is just a walking distance from the city center. Unfortunately, on our day of arrival it rained all day and were not able to go to many places, just took an hour hop on /hop off bus tour to get a feel of the city. Our room was upgraded to the next...

Staying in Margareten

Neighbourhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
