I find hotels in wien pretty expensive and I was glad I chose this hotel within my budget, approx euros 70 to 75 a night. Excellent value for money.

Have just had 2 nights at the Furst Metternich. Although our room was very small (but we did only book a basic double) it was very clean and the wonderful service provided by the staff, especially Danielle, made this hotel a great stay. The position...More
We got to Vienna early in the morning, and the very nice receptionist allowed us to check in early. The room had just been redone and was very comfortable. Grea location..only about twenty minutes from the downtown of Vienna but even closer with the subway....More
Hotel Fuerst Metternich was a bit of a disappointment. We booked the hotel because we were impressed by the exterior and heard that the bar was lively. First off, there isn't much of a lobby and was unimpressed by the general decor of the hotel....More
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with
its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.

Sorry, I don' have experience with airport transportation in Vienna, but I do know there is regular public service. To get to Hotel Fürst Metternich, head for the metro line which connects Stephansplatz (downtown, right at the cathedral) with Westbahnhof and get off at the Zieglerstrasse stop. It's only a few steps from there.
