The hotel is VERY easily accessible via the U-bahn, is located in the middle of an amazing shopping street and is walking distance fom many mjor attractions. The hotel staff were very friendly and proffesional, it was clen and quiet, and breakfast was great :) THe heating system takes a long time to heat up the room though, so keep...

Due to the good reviews on TripAdvisor, we booked this hotel and we regret it. Furniture in our room was very old, bathroom tiny and we booked the Superior Double room! Hotel staff was not friendly at all: in the morning they didn't talk to you, unless if they needed your room-number for breakfast: " Room number?" That was all....

This review is based on a two night stay initially in room 203. First impressions were very good : excellent location adjacent the subway and buses a few metres away, lovely old hotel full of character, friendly reception staff, nice bar and restaurant and adequate bedroom with a nice bathroom with a bath. Sadly, at 7am following our first nights...

A wonderful hotel in the centre of Vienna. Very close to the ubahn station so very convenient. Very comfortable. Very helpful staff. Tasty breakfast. The rooms are very clean with nice beds and shower and the Cafe Ritter is right across the road for delicious coffee and cakes.

We stayed here recently for four nights and found Hotel Kummer to be excellent in every respect: location, courteous staff, accommodations, bar and breakfast service, everything was above par. Apparently, some form of guest house has existed at this site since late 1600 outside the city walls at that time and the present hotel was built at the same location...

Good size comfortable room. Excellent breakfast & staff. Location ideal in pedestrianised shopping area. From main train station you need U1 line to Stephansplatz, then U3 to Neubaugasse & hotel entrance is in front of you. Bus 13A goes direct from station if you know which stop to get off - easy on return, as bus stop is just on...

I have just completed my 6th trip to Vienna and again stayed in the Hotel Kummer. I simply do not want to stay in any other hotel. The location is great with 2 U-Bahn entrances within 20 yards. The breakfast buffet is wonderful. Evening dining is also top notch. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful with anything you need....

I truely enjoyed my stay here. The entrance is beautiful and staff extremely helpful. Except one who must of been having a bad day. My room was clean and comfortable, though building is going on next door and unfortunately my room was beside that. Didn't bother me too much as I was out during the days and no work at...

Very fine and charming hotel, with a friendly and helpfull staff. Very delicious breakfast and a nice bar for a goodnight drink. The staff gave us good ideas for dining out at different restaurants. Very quiet at night times. Fantastic location for visiting Vienna Christmas markets.

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
