Booked the hotel as part of an Expedia deal. Very pleased with outcome. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was excellent, room very clean and much bigger than expected. Location was perfect. Right by tube station but also not that far to walk to city centre. Didn't eat there in the evening so can't comment on the quality...

Hotel in a great location. Has everything on its doorstep like great shops, underground train station under/opposite hotel, great restaurants, fast food outlets etc. Very clean. Pleasant staff. Breakfast great too. All sights nearby. Would definately stay there again and would highly recommend it. Even had an hotel umbrella & bag in bedroom to use if needed. Only minor downside...

We travelled as two couples and spent 4 nights at the Hotel Kummer. I was a little worried after reading some reviews but everything was fine. Rooms are clean and spacious(if a little dated), we only booked standard but they were large! Only gripe was that we would have liked tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and...

I felt a bit dubious about this booking after reading some reviews. As usual, you have to speak only as you find. Location is brilliant, the tube (UBahn 3 Neubaugasse) is right opposite the hotel which is located on an excellent shopping street. From the tube to any major tourist destination is no more than 15/20 mins. Airport to hotel...

Very nice hotel, we were a family of four and had booked two rooms, so they gave us two adjacent rooms that connected from the inside, which was very nice and thoughtful of them. Rooms were very nice, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was also very good and had a lot of variety. The reasons I am not putting five stars...

The room was quite small but comfortable. Nice bathroom. The staff was friendly. The breakfast has a lot of room for improvement. The location is perfect in the heart of Vienna's main shopping street. The subway station is literally at the front door. The only real downside. The free wifi is crappy.

The hotel is beautiful on the outside, and is in a great location. The breakfast was very good, and the servers at the restaurant were nice and friendly. Those are the good points. The walls are extremely thin. I could hear people in the rooms next door having a normal conversation, and watching tv. I could tell these things weren't...

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. This is an old-fashion hotel right at the centre of shopping district, with very quick access to city center. The room was adequate, breakfast decent and the overall experience was quite good. VALUE FOR MONEY. The restaurant / bar at the hotel was quite basic but with such a...

we liked the room and still did not feel at home, as specially for breakfast it was crowded, loveless, and the setup not 4stars. The management of the Hotel was not tourist friendly, as we had to leave some days earlier and got no refund of the payed room what so ever. Disappointing mouve.

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
