We stayed at the Mercure Wien Zentrum in Vienna for four nights in September. My husband and I were travelling with four friends. The location, was ideal ... about a five-minute walk to Stephansdom (St. Stephen's Cathedral). We were able to walk just about everywhere we wanted to go and there are lots of good restaurants close by. We did...

It was a great experience, the service was very good, but don't eat the food downstairs at their restaurant. It was nasty. (They did compensate us with a jazz CD, though.)

Very good location for this hotel -- 10 mn away from the airport bus stop and 10 mn away from Stephanplatz. The neighborhood was mostly quiet, though there was a lot of singing and howling on the weekend night we were there. There are many bars around and their customers can get overly musical late at night on the street....

Our last stop on the Europe tour was in Vienna, and I was really worried about our hotel there. As a bad choice could ruin all of our joy and good memories. and to be honest, after booking 6 other hotels for this trip, we didn't put much effort on finding the "best" for our last stop. When I received...

Friendly and helpful reception staff from checking to departure. They were really helpful in providing maps, directions and booking tours. We liked our room, only issue was that became to hot and we were unable to adjust the room temperature.Bed was comfortable and allowed a good nights sleep. Location was really good inside the ring close to the Danube canal....

Convenient location when arriving / departing from Vienna by plain, proximity of old center & number of surrounding bars, pubs, restaurants compensates for small room size. Rooms nice and clean, breakfast quite modest (no need to eat ;-)

We spent 3 days in Vienna in late July 2011, and stayed at the Mercure Wien Zentrum at the advice of a friend who had stayed there several times. The hotel surpassed our expectations in every way. We want to especially commend the young employees behind the check in counter. They were exceedingly pleasant and helpful in greeting us, offering...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
