Working in the music industry I have the pleasure of staying in many of the worlds greatest 5 and 6 star hotels. My stay at the Mercure in Vienna was made equally pleasurable by the friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to acomodate us. The rooms were clean and the location excellent. Thank you

Great location - easy walking distance to many of sights/attraction in Vienna. Room was clean & tidy. Design flaw in shower cubicle meant bathroom floor was wet each time shower was used. Free wi-fi a real bonus. Plenty of nearby bakeries/coffee shops as alternative to high priced hotel breakfast. Downsides: couldn't get 4pm late checkout despite being Accor Favourite Guest... More

Check in and front desk assistance was friendly and very helpful. Location is great for both tourism and business, as it provides fast access to the Underground. Might be a little small for two people occupying the same room, but if you spend most of your time outside then it's not a factor. If you're from the U.S. don't forget... More

The staff are very helpful but that is the extent of this hotel approaching 4 star. Believe it or not, no air conditioning. When I complained, we got a small fan from the management., The rooms are miniscule, hence cupboard space marginal. If you want to read at night, hopefully you have night vision glasses with you as the lighting... More

1st the hotel is perfectly located in the very proximity of Stephansdom. The hotel seems to be well-managed, rooms are comfortable and clean. We didn't like the glass wall of the bathroom which contains also a hole. Very modern design but not very practical for a toilet. Breakfasts are good and the desk very helpful. I would definitely recommend the place.

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
