Coming from the US, you have to remember that rooms will always be smaller, the fan is standard over AC, and showers are usually handheld. Once you get past that, cleanliness and service are great here! The room has all the basics you need and the windows open to the open shopping area with a glimpse of the church steeples....

This is a very nice Viennese classical building in the best area of the city, right by Karnerstrasse, the main pedestrian street. Just 4 blocks from Stephandom, two from the State Opera and one form Albertina Museum...you cannot ask for a better location. The room I got (although booked quite cheap through Expedia) was ample and faced the pedestrian street...

We stayed at this hotel for four nights during September. The hotel is an excellent location since it is walking distance from the main sights, restaurants, and other tourist spots. It's just one block away from the opera house where you can find a station for hop-on-hop-off buses during the day. The hotel is very classy and the rooms are...

A really classic hotel - big room, really good breakfast. The bathroom was itself as big as typical hotel rooms in Paris.. :) Quiet, WLAN worked well. And couldnt' be more centrally located. There is a PC and printer at the lobby to print out boarding passes. Only "nag" are the room doors..classic keys. I'd prefer access cards for some...

Our recent stay at the Hotel Astoria was fabulous. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a larger room with a balcony that faced the main pedestrian walk. We were only in Vienna for 2 days, but the hotel location made all of our outings and tours very easy and accessible. This was probably the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed...

This was a beautiful traditional hotel. The room was small, but big enough. The bathroom was huge. Our room had a great balcony, so the views were fantastic. I will say that the area is really noisy on Saturday nights. However, any hotels on the pedestrian district are going to have this problem. Breakfasts at the hotel are not included...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
