This was our 2nd stay there; Walter and Gudrun are great hosts, you are welcomed and treated like old friends. The B&B is in a great location just a short bus ride to the city, which you can get from a short 3 min walk away. The apartment we had was just beautiful, very roomy, and just gorgeous decor, gives me the feel of going back in time...just one of the reasons l love it there, The whole place is clean and well kept not just the apartment/rooms but even the garden which is lovely to sit by the pool and relax on a beautiful day , with a great mountain view. Housekeeping is every day and a great fresh buffet breakfast with everything you would want served in the lovely dining room, where you are greeted by Gudrun dressed in her Dirndl and Walter...and of coarse the gorgeous Timmy..:) If you want the feel of true Austria in this modern world stay there ; you won't be disappointed...

Walter and his wife are incredibly kind people who offer a wonderful stay. The location is at the base of a mountain and you truly feel you are in Sound of Music country! I have stayed in many 5 star hotels across the world and my stay at Haus Am Moos tops them all. Breakfast was incredibly fresh and delicious and the kindness of the hosts reminds you there is great goodness in the world. I was here with on a trip through Austria with my mother, and each of our rooms were perfect. This was our favorite place that we stayed on our vacation. The picture is the view from Mom’s room. There is a mountain behind the fog. We stayed 3 nights and it was very easy to catch the bus into Salzburg proper. We had also rented a car and it was a short drive from the airport. We drove down to Berchtesgaden one afternoon and it was an easy drive. We drove to Hallstatt another day and again, easy to navigate from here. I can’t wait to return with my wife someday.

A very nice accomodation, that I recommend everyone who is planning to visit Salzburg. Nice, simple room, good shower, good beds, ... The breakfast is great, the owner is friendly, the location is beautiful, in the mountains with great views. We stayed 2 nights here at the beginning of a roundtrip Austria, Slovenia and Kroatia and we could not wish a better start of our trip!

Sadly I was only able to stay one night in this delightful hotel. Walter, the proprietor, is very helpful and charming. Unfortunately I did not meet his wife as she was in hospital. It is a short bus ride out of Salzburg but this is not difficult or complicated. Walter had given excellent directions and the location is so lovely. I had a beautiful view from my bedroom, the bed was really comfortable, the shower excellent and the breakfast delicious. There are lovely gardens with a swimming pool. I look forward to a return visit one day.

In looking for accommodations, I found Haus Am Moos in the travel book, "Munich, Bavaria & the Black Forest" by Kerry Christiani and Marc Di Duca. It exceeded our expectations. The pictures on their website don't do the suite we had justice. My husband and I were traveling with our two children, and another family member. For a mere 115 Euros per night we booked the Romantic Suite, which consisted of two double bedrooms and one single bedroom. Each of the double rooms had a sink and a mirror in the room--a huge benefit in getting ready to go, and not mentioned on their site. The single room didn't have a sink but did have a small refrigerator. The bathroom was spacious and had both stand up shower and large bathtub. Breakfast was ample and the view of from the breakfast room terrific. The number one thing that impressed us however, was the HELPFULNESS of the proprietors. We had made non-refundable reservations to go on a boat on the Konigsee on a Saturday morning. The earliest bus wasn't going to get us there on time and we needed a large taxi that would hold 5. Walter helped my husband and made several phone calls on our behalf (our German cell didn't work in Austria). He easily devoted at least 30 minutes to helping us in the morning. After we had walked the little way out to the street, waiting for cab (that we hoped was coming) he came out to check on us and let us know there had been a call back to the house affirming that yes, the taxi was coming. I mention this whole incident to underscore the amazingly helpful service we received. Much more so than I would ever have expected and certainly more than a busy hotel desk staff would give. Also we were quite stressed wondering if we would make our boat--Walter was extremely calm, sympathetic, competent, and didn't loose his wry sense of humor. I certainly can't recommend this B & B more highly, and would try and stay there again should we find ourselves lucky enough to visit Salzburg a second time.
