Dirty. Smelt of cigarettes, small, cold water was warm, staff rude and very expensive. Worst of all, the "private bathroom" was down the corridor past two other rooms. Going to the toilet/shower was very inconvenient. This was not mentioned on the booking.com website. Maybe not the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, but certainly in the bottom two. An absolute...

We booked this room with booking.com and selected a "double or twin room" and then selected double bed in the bed options. We were also told we got early check in and a free welcome drink. We arrived at the hotel at 1:15 and had to wait until 2pm for check in as there is actually no possibility for any...

We read the reviews and held our breath. Let's be clear: the location is fantastic. And we were not bothered by the church bells (we only heard them when awake at night, they didn't wake us or the kids up). Our room was small for our family (room 47, with 4 beds) but adequate. The shared toilet was sufficient and...

So I stayed at this hotel for one night on a Saturday night. The service was great when I arrived and the room was fine for my needs. However, on Sunday I had a large suitcase that I did not want to carry around Salzburg until my train at 7 pm. So, I asked the hotel owner if he could...

SEWAGE- stink in the toilets (suction system like planes) Private bathroom in the corridor. CLEANING LADY- Vacuuming at 8 am and came into my room at 0830 while I was changing....

We stayed a few pleasant nights here. The rooms were basic but clean and as expected for the price. However being basic means no A/C and in a hot august meant that we had to keep the window open night and day. The. Hotel is on a busy pedestrian street and can be quite noisy. But the biggest surprise was...

OK, I usually give basic places the benefit of the doubt because my expectations are pretty low to start with. I just want a clean hotel in a central location with a private bathroom. My husband and I are traveling with children so we usually have to book 2 rooms in Europe because almost no hotels offer rooms for 5....

I failed to extend my stay in another hostel in Salzburg in a busy night (1st November), so I moved to this cute place nearby. Lovely receptionist who even offered herself to carry my heavy suitcase upstairs (!!). She always cared about my stay, asking if I had slept well, if the room was OK and so on (it was,...

Quaint, recently renovated hotel 5 minutes walk from the heart of the city. Great location, light airy rooms. Clean, functional and comfortable. The building is 700 years old so no lift and narrow staircase but felt that this added to its charm.

I have to say at 48 euros per night I wasn't expecting much. The location is ideal, quiet, charming street. My room (number 6) was up 3 flights of stairs and had a small patio which will be nice in the warmer months. All new Ikea furnishings and clean. But incredibly basic, super hard towels, no wifi, not even any...
