This place is extremely creepy and severely unwelcoming. They offer zero assistance and are never there. If you check in after hours they leave your key in an envelope outside their front doors so ANYONE can come in. Very unsafe method and they simply don’t care about your comfort but they will siphon out your money with a smile. We literally left 4 days early and lost $520 we already paid for , simply because this “hotel” is a joke
We booked in March, right before quarantine began, for a July 2020 stay and cancelled our reservation 5 days later. I've written more emails than I can count and I've had one response from Marianne saying she'll look into it but never heard back. Very disappointed in the way business is handled here.
We booked Villa Trapp for September 2020 In February and over 2 months after free cancellation, no refund yet and no way to communicate with them, several emails & phone ... no anwser! Very Frustrating situation.
This is a long and frustrating story but I'll try to make it concise. We were supposed to travel throughout Bavaria and N. Italy the month of May but COVID-19 had other plans for us! We had self-booked our entire trip with AirBnb's, rental cars, airlines, hotels, tours, etc. EVERY booking graciously refunded every dollar we had spent except Villa Trapp!! I sent an email over 7 weeks prior to our scheduled arrival date (2 weeks is required for full refund by their policy). I received an auto response from them saying they were closed until further notice. To make this very long story short - I heard ZERO from them over the next 3 months. I sent multiple emails, made international calls to their office 3 times only to get an answering machine saying to leave a message - which I did each time. Their website showed they were open and operating. In July, I wrote another email to their website and finally received a response. They asked for a copy of my initial cancellation email and my credit card information so they could refund my money. I did all of this right away. I looked at my credit card statement a few days later and saw they took the refund back without any explanation!! I again emailed them questioning this action and was sent a reply saying they deemed my cancellation email too late for their refund policy! I again sent them copies of ALL the emails I had sent beginning Apr 2nd and asked for an explanation for their decision - I have yet to hear back from them. I sent a Registered Mail with Signature Required package with all the emails and a personal letter. It was received and signed for 2 days later - I have yet to hear from them at all. We paid them 860 euros (~$980 dollars) for 2 rooms and 4 Sound of Music Tours (Booking ID #070920191011) which we were not allowed to enjoy due to the pandemic. We would absolutely NEVER RECOMMEND the Villa Trapp to anyone because of their total lack of business integrity and obvious lack of regard for its customers. They have taken our money by denying our refund even though we more than met their cancellation policy and have ignored our communications.…
i booked a surprise 60th birthday break in April for my wife and my self i also booked more hotels as it was going to be a 2 week break visiting all around Austria, but the world was put in lock down i got refunds from all hotels, car rentals but the villa trapp refused saying i booked a none refunded room (the same with the rest of the break) so i would NOT BOOK HERE AGAIN
