Stayed here 3 nights and can thoroughly recommend this Melk hotel. Lovely staff great food n loved our room- with yellow towels (a first!) Very clean, (thank you, lovely cleaning people) wonderful bed n pillows, block out curtains, great bathroom, & finally windows which we can open wide! Being Formula 1 fans we were so happy as we watched the...

We arrived in 90+ temperatures. Upon check-in, when asked if we could have a fan since there is no air conditioning, the very aloof man at the desk replied that they had none. He said for 7 months of the year they use heat, so why would they have air or fans? Umm, perhaps for the remaining 5 months?!? When...

We spent two nights at this hotel late August. Easy access and close to the town centre and the Abbey. Quiet location and quiet room. Car parking just in front of the building. Our room was more than adequate. Large enough and comfortable with a nice balcony overlooking a small inner court. Nice and kind personnel and helpful - the...

The location of the Wachauerhof is excellent for going to see the abbey in Melk. We arrived in Melk late in the afternoon and walked through the village down to the Danube. A very pleasant walk with shops and restaurants along the way. On the way back (uphill) we divided the trip into two parts by stopping for dinner halfway...

Stayed one night in early June as part of a walking tour of the Wachau. The room was clean but a bit light on extras such as tissues, soaps etc. Location is quite good being close to main part of town but far enough away to be quiet. Breakfast was adequate but a few more fresh items would have helped.The...

Booked this to stay as part of cycling the Danube Way to Vienna from Passau. Nice hotel lots of secure locking for bikes, although if you have your own keep it well away from the tour groups on rental bikes, as they have no respect for privately owned stuff. Bit of a problem in that the hotel states rooms are...

The room was very clean and the beds were nice. Breakfast was nice I think fresh fruit would have been nice. We spent the night and for the cost I felt it was reasonable. The owner works extremely hard. He was very kind to us.

Nice big rooms but hotel a bit anonymous. Bar pleasant and reasonable breakfasts. Also has restaurant attached to the hotel which was well frequented. Very good location for centre of town and close to the monastery. Plenty of parking including for bikes

Rooms: one of the best that I stayed in in the last year. The seem as they were renewed. Breakfast is good. But the hotel lacks of atmosphere. It was practically empty, the staff is poor with English and I felt like I was alone there. Maybe because it is not the main season ...
