Perfectly serviceable hotel in a great central location for this lovely town. The staff are helpful and friendly. The bedrooms lack any inspiration and are really just functional. Not a bad place to stay if you're on a budget rather than after a luxurious experience.
This hotel is situated on a quiet street parallel to the main shopping street and is only a few minutes walk from the main sights in Eisenstadt - the Esterhazy Palace and Haydn House. Our room was large, with lots of storage though it lacked a safe deposit box. The soundproofing between the rooms wasn't great as you could hear the TV in the adjacent room. Breakfast was fine though not outstanding. It is about 15 minute walk from the station though with luggage you might need to take a taxi and there is also a city bus which stops at the station. There are a number of good restaurants within walking distance. The hotel has an Italian restaurant on the premises though we didn't eat there. Would stay ther if we cam back to Burgenland - an interesting and attractive area very different from the better known mountainous areas of Austria.…
This is a very nice hotel, with a couple of downsides. I'll do the bad first: bad pillows, no air conditioning, power shower design. The pillows were very typically European - they were rather flat and there was only one per person. It made for a very uncomfortable rest. The hotel has no a/c and there are fans in the rooms. Luckily we were there in May when the weather is quite pleasant, but the room was still stuffy and uncomfortable at time. And the shower had no curtain so the water tended to run out onto the bathroom floor. Now the good. The service was excellent! We expected to arrive after 10pm and the hotel was good enough to leave our room keys in a key safe outside the hotel (they provided us with the combination). The breakfast they provide is delicious. [Note: For travelers from the US, this is a European breakfast consisting of breads, meats, cheeses, jam, and cereal. Coffee and juice provided as well. If you're looking for bacon, eggs and pancakes, you won't find that here]. The hotel was clean and pleasantly decorated. We asked about how to get to Vienna after we checked out and the front desk was kind enough to call and arrange a taxi for us. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.…
We came to this hotel again after a year. The experience is even better...the cleanness is the same and better, the food, the service, the friendliness all improved. The maintenance and management of this perfect small hotel is outstanding. Looking forward to coming there in October 2015!
I stayed at the Parkhotel for about a week while doing research and attending a professional conference. The room was comfortable and clean, the location was ideal for my purpose, reasonably priced, and the staff were delightful and accommodating. The Italian restaurant that served complimentary breakfast was very convenient and the food and service were good and selections were reasonably priced as well. There is no AC (this part of the town is dominated by 18th Baroque century buildings which add to the charm and ambiance of this location) but a fan was provided and that was sufficient, even pleasant, even in August. I was particularly impressed that the manager forwarded mail to me in the USA that arrived after my stay.
