We stayed for one night during the week. Wow! The food and service was exceptional, the room really delightful and our host welcoming and attentive. Highly recommended, the gardens are fantastic and Dartmoor and Devon coastal resorts not too far away. The hotel character and history( its in the room guide) is like stepping back into the Jacobean era. All...

We found Lewtrenchard Manor on the website 'Afternoon Tea' and booked on Wednesday to attend on Friday. It was a cold wet dreary south west day but we were greeted with sunny smiles and given a mini tour of the rooms to choose where we would like to eat. How lovely is that? We chose one of the lounges with...

Not far off the A30 to cornwall but in deep countryside, this Jacobean country house is a gem. This was our first stay since our initial stay ten years ago. The hotel is now run by the family and from the moment of our arrival to leaving was faultless. Fabulous triple aspect suite off the gallery. Dinner was served in...

My parents stayed here for two nights in February to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday (they toured various parts of the south west). They were made to feel very welcome by reception, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished, and immaculately clean. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

A bit of background to start off: my newly-minted fiancee and I came to Lewtrenchard as a surprise luxury treat for the lady on the day of my marriage proposal. We are dog lovers, who for the last 6 months have been living in a shower-only property - Josie has always been big into baths and so the lack of...

My wife and I visited the manor last night and had a very pleasant time indeed. The welcome was excellent with us truly feeling like a guest rather than a commodity. The room was stunning, with a true sense of the history of the building, without feeling overpowered by its antiquity. Even on a rainy February afternoon the grounds were...

My wife and I booked at last minute overnight package at the hotel as a early valentine celebration. Despite only giving 5 hours notice they managed to furnish the room with flowers, chocolates and champagne as requested. The staff were extremely friendly and did their utmost to make it a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The food was sublime along with great...
