Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very smelly. Outdated but bed was comfortable. Still waiting for a cc refund. Hard to find at night when walking from the train station. Very difficult to deal with after checking out. Keep promising to refund me but still waiting. Anyone have any advice on how to get my refund? Certainly won't me recommending this place to anyone

Avoid at all cost. The place is filthy, and rundown is an understatement. Mould growing on furniture, filth on walls, broken bedroom door held on with one hinge, nearly fell off. Bathroom falling apart. Just shabby. Uninhabitable and should be removed off booking sites. You could tell from even driving in as the grounds are not cared for either. I did not stay and all money was refunded. Staff even admitted the place is not suitable. Being used now for long term stays by people who can't find housing.

Sheets where dirty and had blood and something else that smelt horrible on them, old run down, back of toilet was taped up. Shower and bath old and dated, manager at the time was too busy talking to friends out the front to show us where our room was. All in all, a bad experience and wouldn't recommend the place to anyone

Stayed 2 nights in a 1 bed apartment. I guess it is a case of getting what you pay for. Location is great - close to shopping centre and train station. Setting is pleasant - pool and gardens. But, it is very tired and worn. Really needs a good overhaul. Very basic facilities - just enough towels, pillows, knives forks, crockery, but in poor condition. No luxury at all. Dishwashing drainer rusty, stove top battered etc. this place would benefit from an upgrade, some time and energy and it would be great, not just average. Staff friendly but some language difficulties.

I've given 5 stars not because it's a slendiferous luxury, but because it is perfect in atmosphere and value. Right in the middle of Indooroopilly, one of the older and enjoyable suburbs of Brisbane (in case you didn't know, Brisbane has a mix of horrible and delightful suburbs, and Indooroopilly is delightful!), close to train and bus, close to shops, close to green leafy walking, well presented and clean units. But what really hit it off for us was the wonderful garden. It took us back to the Malayan Peninsular ambience. I don't have anything to complain about with Forest Lodge. The units were comfortable, the bed comfortable, silent nights, and even a gas stove! Certainly, we will be back as this is an eminently suitable accommodation in the heart of Brisbane.

Very straightforward after-hours check-in. Immaculately clean rooms, excellent hot water, very comfortable bed. All that you need in kitchen utensils. Stayed in Room 32, upstairs. Immaculately maintained gardens and grounds, clean pool. BBQ near pool cooks very very slowly; plenty of gas supply so perhaps a thorough clean of the connectors or a new grill is required? Very close to the massive Indooroopilly Shopping Centre and Indooroopilly Golf Course, where we attended a family wedding. Historic Regatta Hotel in Toowong a few minutes drive. An excellent stay.

Big cracks through walls to ceiling, walls to floor edges filthy, the whole place needed disinfecting-had that filthy kitchen oil smell but appeared to be clean. Toilet seat mount broken. A full inch gap under front door, 1 mtr from a garden bed. Bed was uncomfortable, lounge was uncomfortable and fabric felt like it had collected god knows what over time.It did the job for a one nighter but would not return...Building should be knocked down I think.Noise from apartment above almost unbearable as every step is amplified through the ceiling. I struggle to say anything good other than it had a full kitchen for use.

A peaceful little oasis very close to shops and things to do. A well maintained garden and pool with two guest barbecues. Rooms are a little smallish and the walls transmit sound, however, for where it is, it is quiet. Will definitely stay here again.

Very dated, prison-like room with cinder block walls. It's clean enough, but I feel like I can't wait to get out of here. Air conditioning only works as a fan. No cooling happening. Thank goodness we only booked one night!

The room was a good size and comfortable. It was older in style but basically we only slept there. The pool looked lovely but it rained the whole weekend so we did not use this. The rooms were very secure and safe. parking was good. The only issues was that we had were the toilet as it did not work properly, had to flush twice at each use. We walked out the front of our unit and there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke, not sure where the actual designated area was but surely it wasn't right outside of the units.
