Great breakfast, homemade bread and salmon are super yummy. The hostel has a warm feeling and the kitchen and dining spaces invite socializing. I made some great friends here. Vik is a good place to stay when making your way through the South. Watch out for icy roads in winter between Vik and Kirkubaelauster.

Of all the hostel that I have stayed during my travel, Vik Hostel is certainly one a kind. It's a converted farm house! Situated on the hilly area of Vik, it's offers a spectacular view of the town and the beach. We stayed for 2 nights and we were placed in the 6 bedded dorm. Toilets is limited with only...

The hostel was pricey for what you got. We stayed in a dorm for 4 and there was barely enough room to get 2 bunk beds in here. The place needs a refurb and also re-arranging some of the rooms - above the room I slept in was the toilet (next to the kitchen!) which I could hear from my...

We stayed one night at one of the wooden cottages (six people). There were 4 beds and another 4 mattresses on the top floor. We had our own kitchen and bathroom in the cottage. Internet was very weak inside the cottage and would work occasionally. We paid 45 euros per person, which may not be too much for Icelandic standards...

Unfortunately despite being in a good location this was the worse hostel we stayed in in Iceland. The rooms are tiny, with no locks on the doors, the bathrooms are not ventilated and there are only 2 of them for the whole hostel. Plus you can hear everything that happens there from your room! Staff were friendly but I wouldn't...

It was a nice stay at the Vik Hostel. The cabin was very comfortable and warm on our winter trip. Nicely built bunks and friendly kitchen area. The breakfast was nice and the staff were very helpful. The only bump was the sometimes hot sometimes warmish shower.

It's located in the the hilly far end of town center, 15 mins walk to supermarket. The place is ok clean with limited toilets. Wifi didn't work on the night I was there. Nice and helpful staff. Overall an ok reasonably priced place to stay for a stopover

Stayed here for 2 nights while waiting for the northern lights to miraculously appear (never happened!). Rooms are on the small side, especially in the attic, where the slanting ceilings of the house cut through your living space. Quite away from the beach as it is situated on the edges of town near the mountains already. The owners and the...

Hostel Vik was a fantastic find. Three friends and I stayed in one of the private cabins which were modern, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast offered in the morning. Would also recommend eating at the nearby restaurant for dinner. One of my favourite meals in Iceland! And, we received a 10% discount as hostel guests....

The HI hostel Vik is a cute little hostel set in what could be described as and old farmhouse. It is up the road from the first hostel sign, this is the restaurant affiliated with the hostel, do not confuse the two :) There is a common area with sofas and television right when you walk in, the wifi works...
