We booked 4 rooms, which were all fine. We were a bit disappointed with the shared kitchen - only 3 forks, no oven, only 1 hob working. The guesthouse is a fair drive from Vic and many people had brought food to cook, based on the description of facilities, but there were long delays waiting for the 1 hob to...

Watch out when you book a "double" room for 2 people. You might be paying for 1 person or "single use" and then the charges go up for "double use". This is what happened to me and I had to pay another $40/ night. I have never run into this anywhere I have traveled. It is a great money making...

The house is situated a distance from the road but with your own transport it is so worth a visit/stay.The hostess is on hand in reception to answer questions etc.The open kitchen at the end of the corridor allows guests to meet, make a small meal or store food.,Breakfast which was included was 'continental'. When caught in a snow storm in...

A bit of a drive from Vik, Reynisfjara beach and the crashed airplane site, this cozy hotel has a lot of character and is very reasonably priced. The breakfast was delicious, varied and plentiful. The owner/receptionist is very friendly and straight-forward. The bathrooms are shared, but the fan comes on automatically when you enter and the hot water is fast....

A fantastic location close to Vik, in the farm land. The room was comfortable and we had access to a kitchen to make food and drinks. The staff were friendly, even coming out in the night after we locked ourselves out.

No frills, but new and spotlessly clean. Friendly service. The guesthouse includes a small kitchen if you prefer to self-cater, or it's 20 minutes from Vik. The distance from Vik was only a small inconvenience when we went to dinner and had to drive up and down a steep hill between the restaurant and the guesthouse.

My husband and I were able to stay at Guesthouse Steig for 5 nights. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a nice bathroom included. The breakfasts were amazing with everything you could want in a Icelandic buffet style. The common kitchen for guests was well stocked and we were able to prepare our own nice evening meal. All the...

Spent one eventful night after a long drive from Reykjavik, and this charming guesthouse was the perfect rest stop for the day. Surrounded by farmland and grazing sheep, it was a well-run family property with very friendly and hospital staff. They served a wonderful dinner, albeit pricey, and the breakfast selection was good too. We stayed in a spacious double...

When we arrived at Steig, the power was out due to the terrible weather happening in the area. One of the owners invited us in to the dining area and said that we could make ourselves comfortable which the power was restored (which happened within 20 minutes). Our rooms were small with a shared bathroom. Unfortunately, the beds were fairly...
