We stayed here two nights as part of a tour group, and were quite pleased. The room was simple with clean lines, and had more amenities than we were able to use. The tour group buffet meals provided lots of choices to satisfy different palates, with great coffee choices availab

Its several Foss-hotels in Reykjavik and spread around the country, but this one was the one for us to check this time. Well, we didn't check out the breakfast this time since we had long good night-outs in town and overslept, but probably its up to standard (but can't make any g

A great location to explore Iceland., A very good clean hotel and the staff are very accommodating, but Iceland as a country is expensive. I would recommend a 3 day break as with amount of time will allow you to see much of the Island and do many of the tourist activities.

Hello, is there a public bus you can use to get into the centre etc? The walk would be a bit to far for my elderly mother. Thanks.
Yes! The public bus stop is just outside of the hotel and an even busier stop is about 500 yards at the main intersections (Hlemmur Mathioll)

We are booked to stay at this hotel in November for my husbands birthday. Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant to celebrate his birthday or is the restaurant in the hotel a nice place to celebrate.
The restaurant at this hotel serves buffet style. The food is decent but I wouldn't recommend it for a birthday dinner. They have a nice beer garden & a good Happy Hour that would be good for a birthday drink. A nice place for a birthday dinner is Sushi Social its about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The Fish Market is also nice; both have good food. Make a reservation and they are both kind of pricey.

Can anyone confirm there is individually controlled air conditioning in all the guest rooms?
There's no air conditioning at all. It's Iceland and it's supposed to be cool but you know, global warming... Anyway, there's a window that you can open and that helps.

Hello all, I’m doing a whale watching tour with Elding Adventure at Sea in Old Harbour. Is it walking distance from the FossHotel or should be take a taxi? Thank you
The centre is in walkable distance from the hotel. It will take you approximately 25 minutes by foot. If the weather is good I really recommend it, so that you can explore the city. If you decide to take a taxi you can ask the reception to call you one on your way out. It only takes ten minutes for the taxi to arrive. See you soon!

Regards the Hotel dinner buffet and local restaurants. From what I can gather the dinner bufffet is around £50pp does anyone know if any drinks are included in this? Also are there any local restaurants that offer a Set menu that anyone can recommend.
I can’t answer to the dinner buffet, but we highly enjoyed the breakfast ones that did include juices, milk, tea and coffee. There were a couple coffee shops/bakeries within walking distance of the hotel.
