Very disappointed. This was cheap but not if a couple. Very grubby, lacked care all round. Needed good dose of basic maintenance and cleaning. No bathmats for first two days, no facilities for making tea or coffee either for first two days. Owner not particularly helpful, almost brusque. Good location but was difficult to navigate walk into town at first...

The location is not convenient, the guesthouse not very nice. The owner is extremely unfriendly and you feel like he doesn't want you in his house all the time... what a bad feeling! Plus.. the window in the room could not be closed properly... can you imagine the temperature? It was very cold. Since the very first moment we arrived,...

Me and my friend had a very pleasant stay at this guesthouse. Not far from the city centre, small, cosy and clean rooms matching the price pretty well. I must say that the breakfast was great. Warm bread and freshly pressed coffee is just what you need in the morning to start off your busy day. Of course, with plenty...

This cozy little guesthouse is about 30 minutes walk from the centre of Reykjavik. The staff is really friendly and helpful and the breakfast is just awesome. Of course the place a little old, but the price is also low, which is quite important since Reykjavik is so expensive otherwise.

This is the place to stay! It is cheap yet clean and comfortable. It is close to the city and also provides free, safe parking if needed. When we arrived we were made to feel welcome and they answered all the questions we had. The room was a decent size with 3 single beds and a small wardrobe. As there...

I booked this guesthouse very last minute and secured the last single room...it was obviously meant to be! My parents had a New Year trip to Iceland booked and I decided to turn up to surprise them (it worked!) I arrived on a cold and wet Wednesday evening to a very warm house, greeted by the very welcoming owner who...

Alba guesthouse was a great place to stay a few days in Reykjavik. It was clean and quiet and although we never did it, probably within walking distance to downtown. There was plenty of parking and our favorite part was the breakfast...so good! Bread, meats, cheeses, eggs, butter, jam, rolls, cereal, yogurt, the works. Check in was at 3...something we...

The couple running the guesthouse were fantastic. I found Iceland expensive except for this place. You wouldn't want to spend all day there but was a great location to venture out from. Nice breakfast included, they will even do you a packed lunch if you ask for a very reasonable price. I'd recommend this if you're going out on a...

The guesthouse is a prefect low cost accommodation. It is a fifteen minute walk from the city centre/cathedral. For anyone driving it is just beside Road 49, which is perfect for driving out of Reykjavik. There is parking space for cars at the house. It has a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are basic with a shared sink. A slightly...
