This place was so affordable compared to other options, yet it is located in a great place within walking distance to pretty much everything. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was spectacular. We arrived way before scheduled check in time and staff allowed us to get into the room early without any prior warning. Highly recommended.

Very smart hotel, friendly staff, great location. Small room, but very nice and clean; good toiletries etc. Don't have a room facing the Salvation Army building because it was very noisy all night long on Saturday 18th March - taking in rough sleepers, revellers making merry. Not the best breakfast selection, but adequate.

We have just returned to Uk having spent 5 nights at the Reykjavik Centrum. We found this to be a lovely hotel, the staff were very helpful. We enjoyed the breakfasts, although some mornings we had to ask for certain foods i.e. bacon or fruit but it came eventually. We had 3 nights eating in bar. Lovely food but as...

This was our second time staying at the Centrum. We were there in July 2016 as part of a group tour. When we booked another trip to Iceland, we wanted to stay there again. The location is great, right in the city center; the employees are friendly and helpful. We stayed for two nights, went into the highlands for three...

Lovely clean hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, especially the staff in the restaurant, breakfast was great with lots to choose from would suit all tastes, very much a no frills hotel, basic rooms with a comfortable bed. Think hot drinks should have been provided in the lobby as we didn't want to always sit in our room after a...

We had specifically requested this hotel through our agent so were very disappointed to be moved to a charmless hotel many streets away from the quaint centre. If they had let our agent know we wouldn't have had to wait for a taxi to take us. Told we'd been upgraded but it didn't feel like that to us!

We wanted a hotel that was centrally located and after quite a bit of research chose the Hotel Reykjavik Centrum and were not disappointed. The hotel is located on the oldest street in Reykjavik, almost on top of the Settlement Museum. It is clean, the staff are helpful and polite and the rooms are a good size. Our room had...

Good decent hotel in the city center. Rooms are clean, but show sign of having being used for some years. The breakfast restaurant is good, but the l la carde restaurant is really good. Good service. Within 5 min, you can find yourself down town Reykjavik.

The hotel Centrum is on the oldest street in Reykjavik, an ideal location for exploring the city on foot. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold food, it can get busy quite early with people preparing to set off for trips but additional seating is offered in the cafe area so it's...

Hotel is in excellent location for visiting the city of Reykjavik. The hotel is clean and the staff is always available. The hotel has a restaurant that serves food and drink at reasonable rates. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Reykjavik Centrum is a new first class hotel in the heart of the city, opened on April 1st 2005. It is located on one of Reykjavik’s oldest streets, Adalstraeti, in a newly renovated building, the oldest part of which was built in 1764. On each side of it, new buildings have been constructed in the likeness of their historic predecessors. The hotel spreads over all three buildings, and is designed in the style found in Reykjavík around 1900. During its construction, the remains of a Viking longhouse from the Settlement Period were found. Among the finds excavated at the site were Iceland’s oldest human remains, dating from approximately 870 AD.The hotel has 89 rooms, each fitted with modern amenities, such as satellite TV, telephone, Internet access, mini-bar, radio, iron and board, hair dryer, safe and tea & coffee set. All rooms have en-suite bathroom with either a shower or a bath. ... more   less
