Travellers' Choice
Hotel Reykjavík Centrum is located in the bustling city center within walking distance of some of Iceland's best museums, restaurants and bars. The hotel opened in 2005 and is stands in one of Reykjavik's oldest streets, Aðalstræti. The hotel has undergone extensive renovations while maintaining its original charm as the oldest parts of the building were built in 1764. The hotel spreads over three buildings and during its construction, the remains of a Viking longhouse from the Settlement Period were found. Among the finds excavated at the site were Iceland’s oldest human remains, dating from approximately 870 AD. The hotel has 89 rooms, each fitted with modern amenities, such as satellite TV, telephone, Internet access, mini-bar, radio, iron and board, hair dryer, safe and tea & coffee set. All rooms have en-suite bathroom with either a shower or a bath.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in Nov 2021. Very nice hotel in great location, very comfy beds and loverly but slightly odd breakfast, definitely not a full English. Right in the centre with shops and restaurants 2 minutes walk. 10 minute walk to harbour. No on site parking but there is parking available close by which is free after 6pm until 9am. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for 4 nights in November and the hotel is very nice, the rooms are very comfortable and the staff were always on hand to help. We didn't take the breakfast option when we booked but did have it one of the days as we were out on an all day hike, there was plenty of choice and the food was fresh. The hotel is 2-3 minutes walk from shops, bars & restaurants and the main bus terminal is only about 10 minute walk. We would happily stay here agin.

Just had a wonderful 3 night stay and would love to return one day. Fantastic Central location to bars, restaurants and bus stop to excursions. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast is superb with a lovely choice of hot and cold food. Breakfast served 7am until 10am which is very good these days so you don't feel rushed. The rooms are modern and clean and very quiet. There is a lovely bar at the hotel too which was reasonably priced.

We just spent 9 nights at the Centrum Hotel and had an overall amazing stay. The hotel is in a fantastic location, providing easy access to all of Reykjavik. The staff at this hotel were amazing. They helped us daily to confirm our tours. The breakfast was fantastic as was the happy hour deal in the bar. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 was the room and bathroom were crazy small with awkward storage space for our clothes and the shower barely had room to turn around in. It was smaller than some of the cruise ship rooms I've been on.
