A good hotel, close to the centre of Reykjavic, comfortable rooms, and excellent breakfast(included in price). On the tours and airport pick up routes, reception was efficient. En suite very nice, but shower only, hotel and room very clean. Would certainly consider staying here again if we come back to Iceland

We will deal with the cons first. We hadn't been to Iceland before and decided that we would visit for 5 nights. We chose the Baron Hotel online and arrived on Sunday 20th September 2015. First impressions at the Hotel front desk were good. The two staff on duty greeted us warmly and we went up to our room, No.215....

Even though Iceland is expensive, this hotel was not worth 220€ per room per night. Wet towels we had left on the toilet seat were folded and placed on the bed, some showers had curtains instead of screens (is there anyone in the world who doesn't hate shower curtains sticking to them?). The carpets carpets were stained, the curtains were...

I arrived before check-in on the Saturday morning to drop off my bags. To my surprise, my room was already ready and I was able to check in and get settled in. The room was fairly large and had a small kitchenette (which would be quite handy if you were staying for a longer period of time). There was a...

I've stayed here 3 times now - the room is comfortable and clean. The best things are the location and the friendliness of the desk staff. They are really helpful at booking tours, giving advice and directions.

I stayed at this hotel on 2 non-consecutive nights during my recent trip to Iceland. In no way is it a 4 star hotel and, in fact, I consider it the worst hotel I've stayed at while here. I arrived on a Saturday morning, early as I had flown overnight from the states, and exhausted. The hotel staff was completely...

Dear guest, I am truly sorry to hear about your bad experience here at Fosshótel Barón. We always try our best to accommodate our early arrivers as soon as possible so a complaint like this is very unusual. Although its no excuse, the reception forgot about you as they did not see you behind the reception on the couch. When...

Staying here for 4 nights for vacation. Our flight arrived at 6:30AM which I knew would be too early for check in. The hotel staff was kind enough to hold our luggage. We walked around town for about 4 hours and were completely exhausted from traveling and no sleep for 24 hours. We checked back at the hotel at noon...

This small hotel is nicely located a block from the main shopping street. Pros: staff were friendly - which is something we didn't experience at many of our accommodations in Iceland; and the breakfast was plentiful and varied. Cons: the room we stayed in overlooked some dumpsters, and was a bit shabby. The sofa bed was extremely thin and uncomfortable....

Great hotel. Curtains difficult to close properly. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom. Room a little warm for us. Staff brilliant. Restaurant brilliant. Garden bar exceptional with the most informed, enthusiastic and friendly staff I have ever come across coupled with a vast range of beers and some reasonable food. Would definitely recommend and would like to go back.

We stayed here two nights at the beginning of the holiday and three nigths at the end. The rooms were quite nice, the beds are good en the breakfast buffet is good. But the shower is either too hot or too cold and the whole floor of the bathroom gets wet. The location is good, near the center.
