The location is great. It's across the street from a major landmark that is visible from anywhere in Reykjavik, so you can't really get lost. The staff is friendly and helpful, and it's always a plus, I think, when breakfast is included. It wasn't anything fancy, but it was fine. Some things people may want to keep in mind: there...

The hotel is not bad but 3 should be average and I consider this to be slightly below average taking price into considerations as well. Why is it below average - The room was very small. - Breakfast was below average in terms of selection and to some extend quality - Traveling with a small child it is great to...

Centrally located hotel with great and very helpful staff. You get used to the regular chiming of the church bells. :-) Rooms are comfortable but a bit on the small side. Who wants to stay in in Iceland when there is so much to see?

Very central and quiet location opposite the church. The room was small but perfectly adequate and clean. Breakfast was in the main good and free coffee/tea available all day. The only complaint I have is about the fact that I had requested in advance a gluten free breakfast because I have coeliac disease. They emailed me back saying they don't...

This hotel is centrally located, breakfast is included, free coffee/tea/water/juice is provided 24/7, rooms are clean, and the staff is nice. Compared to other hotels in Reykjavik, Leifur is priced reasonably. However, I have to say, it was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in (room 309, no church view). When in the shower, the entire bathroom got...

The hotel is right across from the cathedral; my room was in the annex, which was probably quieter than the main hotel. The room was ample in size, well appointed, and well kept. Exactly what I was looking for!

The location is perfect. You never get lost because you just head for the church and you're back. Yes the room is small but this is not North America. That's just how it is. I had room 402 which is top floor corner. There are two ceiling windows that open completely and they face the church. Totally awesome. I kept...

This is a great family run hotel. Small clean European style rooms, NOT like US hotels but hey your not in the US! They aim to please and the location is fantastic. Attention to detail and cleanliness is very evident.

Hotel is charming, clean, great location. Staff is friendly and helpful and attractive. Others have noted no elevator and small size of rooms. Breakfast was typical but make your waffles were a hit with the family.

The location cannot be beat. Downtown is right outside the door...and just a 10 min walk to bus station. Our room faced the beautiful church (can't spell it). I expected the room to be smaller based on other reviews, but I think they gave us one of the bigger rooms (302) because we stayed for 10 days. I liked that...
