Firstly, the water in the bathroom is spring water and is quite smelly which makes the whole room smell. We noticed that room service opened the bedroom window everyday to attempt to air out the room, however in the middle of March when there's snow on the ground the last thing you want to come back to is a freezing...

A friend and I had a reservation for a week and we only stayed 1 night. When we arrived there was no one at the reception. We waited for 20-30 minutes until the receptionist opened the door. We got a tiny room (supposed to be a double room), dirty pillows and an old TV. The worse part was the humidity...

This hotel could have easily gotten a 4-5 star rating from me. Front desk Staff goes above and beyond...even woke us up for a tour when we overslept. Always ready to answer questions. And even willing to make calls for you when you can't speak Icelandic. Really amazing customer service. But the rooms are atrocious. Peeling paint, small rooms, water...

Booked this hotel ( said in the loosest possible terms) through Wowcher as an anniversary treat . What an utter disappointment Arrived to find no staff and our key left on the desk in reception , when I say reception , I mean a desk at the end of a small barren hall , furnished with a dirty couch ,...

Arrived and no staff were here to greet us. Key was just left sitting on desk in reception. The hotel is more of a hostel than a hotel. There is one lift that when you use you fear for your life as it's the most unsafe/unsteady lift I have ever seen in my life. The rooms have next to nothing...

My girlfriend an i booked a room to stay here in march, and unfortunatly her grandmother passed away a few days ago and the funeral is during our stay. We emailed the hotel to let them know and to see if they would let us cancel the room for free due to the circumstances we were in. They replied saying...

Everywhere is so expensive in Iceland that it's only fair to say that this was good value for money. Good location with easy access to town. Rooms basic but fine. Importantly they are warm! We had trouble with Wi-Fi which was a bit hit and miss. We were told it was working when they must-have been aware it wasn't. We...

As other commenters have said, the hotel isn't much in the way of amenities, but the location is great for a 5 minute walk to the heart of downtown. The staff is exceptionally helpful, making phone calls for us to reschedule the Lights Tour and even letting us check in early in a basement room which was quite and clean....

We had read very mixed reviews just before travelling and you can see why. It didn't get off to a great start for us, we were waiting in reception for 10 minutes with no staff in sight and my girlfriend ended up going to find her on the second floor. Whether the lady was a receptionist or just a cleaner...

The location of this hotel is fairly good - just a short walk from the major sights in Reykjavik. It is situated in a sort of back street, and doesn't look very appealing from the road. There's a small reception area once through the front door, and a breakfast room around the corner. After checking in, we were directed to...
