I come to Iceland 5 times per year and I quite like this hotel. The only downside is that it is not in the middle of the city. Like all hotels in Iceland it is way to expensive. Breakfast is good and it offers a decent gym.

We stayed at the grand hotel for 3 nights . My self and my partner loved the hotel it was perfect the staff were always helpful and friendly and the fish and chips in the hotel was amazing ! Iceland is a little pricey but the hotel prices seems to match other restaurant prices in the city . The only...

Dear Corrie M Thank you for your review of Grand Hotel. Great to hear about how much you enjoyed the fish and chips since it is a new course on our menu. Some people describe the Icelandic water like old eggs. Each can judge for themselves. I personally love how warm and powerful it is. Look forward to welcome you...

Hotel was absolutely 5* staff were very friendly beds were unbelievable comfortable. Still a 10 min drive into the city centre but was a really lovely stay highly recommended! The bar restaurant food was lovely too and we ordered room service on night when we were too tired to go out for dinner and food was very expensive but that...

When you get "Grand" tagged to any hotel. expect it to be slightly dated. Moreover, this is one hotel that's used by a lot of tour groups, so its likely to be a bit run down. But you can't deny it's excellent location, walking distance from the harbour where you can get a good view of the Northern Lights (if...

Dear Elle T Thank you for your review of Grand Hotel Reykjavík. Great that you got to enjoy the northern lights and the walk next to the ocean. Excellent tip about the Cod liver oil. It is full with vitamin D which we need in the dark Icelandic winters. We hope to welcome you again some day

Just back from a trip to Iceland. Our stay at this hotel was fine and comfortable. We were surprised to find that our suites were really no bigger than an ordinary double room in other hotels in Europe however it's understandable , glad we booked them rather than a standard room tho. Staff were very accommodating and much friendlier and...

Nice not really centrally located hotel...good more for groups that move with coaches nice lobby, large rooms and extremely good breakfast..since taxis are very expensive in Iceland ..bus no 14 is the one that leaves you outside of the hotel

Once a year we stay for two days at Grand Hotel. This time we did get a room on the 10th floor. The room was ok, the shower was very bad and the tv was to small for me and there was nothing to watch. I was unable to turn on radio maybe it was me or the television. The...

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable. Bath and separate shower and window overlooking the reception area which caused no problems. Check-in was quick & easy with very friendly helpful staff. Great happy hour from 1700-1900 hours. Around a 20 minute walk into town but there is a shuttle...

We had a pleasant and clean stay. While our room was located on the older side of the hotel the room was still comfortable and nice. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet as well. There were a variety of options including miso soup, green juices, yogurts, waffles, etc. I would recommend staying here. While the location is a bit further...

Grand hotel was lovely. We had a quiet room on the fourth floor. Very clean. Fab shower in large bathroom. It would have been nice to have more choices in room for tea and coffee making and milk. Lovely food in foyer bar. No more expensive than eating down town. Enjoyed walking down to waterfront and along to town centre....
