This hostel is very well located - just a block form Reykjavik center with plenty of free parking nearby. Rooms are spacious and clean with comfortable bedding. Hallways quiet. Nice recycling and book exchange facilities. Kitchen small (and a bit of a challenge to get to in deep snow!) but well stocked. Check-in staff was not overly friendly and couldn't...

The idea was to come alone but I ended up bringing my parents with me who were really curious about the northern lights. I booked this hotel mainly due to the reviews and I don't regret at all. Streinunn was at the reception when we arrived. She is part of the staff and during our stay she was really friendly...

Had a great time at this hostel! Had a clean, private room and bathroom and slept so well after a few days of seeing the Northern lights and Golden Circle area. I love how close the hostel was to the delicious restaurants in town (walking distance) and I loved how spacious the room was. Would definitely recommend!

Stayed at the Reykjavik Downtown Hostel in mid-January. The front desk service was exemplary and the hostel was clean, quiet and safe. The location is ideal - near the Old Harbor and shops/restaurants and Harpa. Great choice for the price. Nevertheless, it is a hostel and I really believe that next time I will choose a hotel strictly for the...

Stayed for 4 nights in the first week of January. It was my first ever experience staying in a hostel and it was great! Room was spacious and clean. I stayed in the 4 beds dorm. There was a little bit of a mixed up, I thought I booked for a female only dorm but I got a mixed one....

Amazing place to stay at. Very clean and the staff are very helpful. It is not too far away from the downtown core and most places you want to visit are within walking distance. Was reasonably priced as compared to Icelandic prices. The breakfast is lacking and is not really worth what you pay for, but then food in Iceland...

This hostel is in a great location and the staff were always extremely helpful with everything from hiring a car to booking tours. They also had great recommendations for activities in Reykjavik (the phallological museum was a great one!). The rooms are clean with plenty of space for luggage and a large locker per person. You will need your own...
