The Pros: The room was decent and seemed clean; it had an in-room sink and mirror. The Cons: The hallway carpeting seemed to be a little stale smelling. The shared kitchen area was a little bit run-down, but okay. The hostel is a little bit far from the city center--I think about two miles. If you are not a walker...

A short bus ride into town. Near to Perlan and the Tourist Red Bus route. Excellent pizzas and lovely porridge at breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Noisy traffic at the back. Lovely views of sunset at the front.

My husband and I stayed one night. The room was clean and our room had two US queen beds. The amenities are very basic. The location off one of the main roads made it easily accessible. The breakfast was decent - many traditional Icelandic options.

The 2 staff members behind the desk had no idea what they were doing. Check in took almost half an hour and they kept on trying to charge me twice and being shady about how much it would cost, even after I paid for it in full on booking.com. Then, with almost no direction, sent us to a room that...

It took the staff 30 minutes to get our rooms sorted and it seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. Ended up going to the room which was overcrowded and finding that our beds were already taken. When we mentioned this to the staff they responded very innapropriatly and quite Rudely. Would not recommend.

We stayed in the capital inn for only 1 night a few weeks ago. It's not too far from the guesthouse, but that's the only plus about this place. We waited a good 15 minutes to check-in as the receptionist was busy with another customer. The long check-in time was frustrating as we were extremely tired after a 4 hour...

For a hostel in Reykjavik a bit away from the city center, this is a decent place to stay. Check-in was a bit slow. The two men behind the counter needed to finish a conversation while the line formed. However, then they were very helpful in switching our rooms to accommodate us. The room was clean but with no en...

We stayed in Capital In for 2 night before heading to travel around Iceland. In general it wasn't bad but could be better. The bathrooms need a lot of attention and work to be done. There wasn't enough of showers and toilets for all the guests. The shower felt filthy and need some maintenance work, like unblocking drains and fixing...

After reading the previous reviews I was dreading staying here but when we arrived our room was clean and modern. There was locks on the rooms and there wasn't any bed bugs like other reviews had said. The breakfast was a bit rubbish but the dinner menu was nice and reasonably priced compared the the rest of Iceland. The staff...

It was a good first impression of Reykjavik as Capital inn offers huge rooms with good breakfast. The best part of this is it's so close to the city, with just minutes of driving distance. The check in experience has been great, and overall wonderful stay.
