Got hit with hidden charges hard. Was almost twice what was agreed on booking.com Lady was very nice but overcharged the crap out of us. Bedding cost which was not explained to us; we had sleeping bag we could've used. Parking spot fee & had no breakfast or kitchen DO NOT RECOMMEND

The location was great, rooms where small but fine for a couple nights. I did not like the staff that much, We had to let them know what time we would arrive, we said between 14.00-16.00 and arrive around 14.30. they where just about to leave to go swimming? which I thought was weird. No kitchen, no service, we were billed for more than we agreed. You cant leave your luggage before and after your stay even not for a few hours. Wifi is paid but btw the password is "iloveiceland" . Result: I dont recommend this hostel for anyone who dont want to spend just a night here.

Based on other very negative reviews I had read, I was already wary of this hostel. As soon as I arrived the price I thought I was paying had gone up due to a 10% credit card charge. Luckily I didn't need to purchase linen or towels as I had my own. The rooms are very basic, hygienic enough. Overall...

An adequate hostel, very basic, limited facilities. In a good location about 10 minute walk into the heart of the city. 500 ISK for internet when the free one didn't work... early check-in was €10 each...

We checked in and left after an hour.. It's a shame the bottle of tequila in reception is empty. Really. Ended up being charged 10% more than we were quoted on the site. Vickingur is an passable guesthouse and the cheapest we found at Reykjavik. It is close to the center and around 20-30 minutes walking to the bus station. We were not overcharged by the WIFI or the city fee, and we paid through the booking website so we did not have the problems that other travelers report. Rooms are simple but...
