My husband and I were perfectly pleased with our stay at this clean and convenient guest house. We really appreciated the free wi-fi and en suite toilet, and I can't tell you how happy I was to find comfortable, squishy pillows and not the rock-hard foam ones that so many more expensive hotels have. The manager kindly gave us a...

In a lot of ways, this guesthouse is way overpriced. No carpet on the floor, no reading light in the room, shared shower with the entire guesthouse. However, all the other options in Isafjordur are much more expensive. So, for a cheaper alternative this is a good option, however don't expect any niceties or extras.

The host was very welcoming and gave us great tips about where to eat. The room was clean and comfortable with an en suite toilet and sink. The kitchen facilities were very good. All in all a perfect place to stay and within walking distance of everything we needed in the town.

This charming guesthouse is perfectly located in town, very comfortable, clean, we felt very much at home, and our host was helpful with great suggestions and took great care of us. We could not have selected a better place!

A lot of reviews mention Halldór the owner, unfortunately he was nowhere to be found and in his stead were 2 unstable women, mother and daughter. They resorted to physical violence when me and my group (that had booked the whole house over a festival weekend) were making 'too much noise' around 11pm on a saturday night. We were watching...

Hi Sunna P and thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear about your experience. I am the new owner now, started few weeks ago. Our motto is to welcome every guests and we hope you´ll come back to stay. A lot of updating has been done in the guesthouse and it´s becoming nice and cosy.

We saw only the room in which we stayed one night. It very was very small and very basic, two single beds, and a small, old night stand. There was no closet, no reading lamps, no pictures on the walls, not even a waste basket, nothing else. The walls are paper thin and we had to listen to the guests...

Six of us in my extended family stayed here for four nights in June. Two groups stayed downstairs in the rooms with private bathrooms. The rooms there were tiny, but it was handy to have a private toilet. Two of us stayed upstairs in a gigantic room, using the shared bathroom. All of the facilities were clean, but there is...

We stayed in the middle of winter and the scenery was absolutely stunning. Halldor the owner was, from the initial telephone call onwards, very warm and accommodating. We arrived late in the night and were greeted with smiles and a good bed. We were the only ones staying in the guesthouse and fully enjoyed all its facilities, especially the bespoke,...

We stayed here just 1 night while we were exploring the West Fjords. If i had to do it over, I would probably have liked to stay 2 nights (or even 3 if you were doing a full day trip somewhere and could use Isafjordur as your base) as the town is very charming, and is the only one of...

We stayed one night at Litla Gistihusid and it was ok. Isafjordur is quite small, thus location is not that important. The room was clean and cozy, the kitchen a little bit old. It would have been good with one more shower or at least seperate shower and toilet to avoid lines in the morning. The host was helpful and...
