Unfortunately we only stayed for one night while passing through the Westfjords. We should have stayed at least two nights. The actual hotel is beautiful. Very old fashioned, built out of wood. The room was clean and comfortable. There's loads of animals all around. Twice dogs, several horses, a talking parrot and a small arctic fox. There are many great...

After one afternoon in Heydalur a few years ago we decided to stay there longer this time and joined the Northern Lights Trip, which was one of the best ideas we've had for years. ;) Our stay was so great I probably won't find the words to describe it appropriately, but I'll try it anyway. Everything was very well organized,...

We wanted to get away from the City. The price was right, there is lot of hot soaking close by. This property has birds, dogs, horses, lots of fun, food is delicious, Stella keeps the place moving and relaxing. Its 200 plus miles North of Reykjavik, lovely drive, place along the way for a hot dog, ice cream, coffee, magical...

This place has the most unique atmosphere. Swimming pool in the greenhouse was just out of this world and we were the only guests using it at that moment. I also loved the restaurant in an old barn, food was excellent and reasonably priced. Would be happy to come back there.

Stayed here with my partner for one night. And what a regret that was. We should've stayed longer!!!!! The food was to die for, definitely have dinner there. The staff were lovely! The guest house animals are the best thing ever!! Two friendly well behaved dogs, an arctic fox that thinks he's a dog, and a chatty parrot! I just loved...

Heydalur is an old farmhouse converted into a Guest house in the West Fjords, Iceland. We had booked a small group tours of 5 Days 4 nights to catch the Northern Lights with Nordic Visitor and Heydalur is simply the best place! It is set in a beautiful valley with their own trout farm and Icelandic horses. First of all,...

Heydalur was magical. My girlfriend had stayed here previously, and the I would make the trip back to Iceland to stay here again. The family that runs Heydalur is the best part. They are beyond friendly. The scenery is stunning. Fjords are now my favorite geographic feature. I didn't know I had a favorite geographic feature. We galloped horses on...

Heydalur is one of my favorite places in Iceland. I use every opportunity to bring my foreign guests there and it has always been a success story. The hospitality of the owners is a great combination with the beautiful nature and good food and accommodation.
