Hof 1is a simple accomodation as iceland knows how to do it. Rooms are little but comfortable, shared bathroom was big and clean. The situation is very good between Vik and Hofn close to Skaftafell parc, and there is a free parking and hot tubs. I stopped there in winter for work and it was very good for 1 night....

we had high expectations...especially as we paid a high price, sadly this hotel did not meet it, it felt more like camping to be honest...surroundings are beautiful however, we arrived late in the evening and the hot tub facility was already closed, that was a dissapointment as i was looking forward to that, our room was a very basic very...

First, the 'town' of Hof is basically in the middle of nowhere with no amenities outside of the hotel. This isn't necessarily a bad thing (nor at all uncommon for rural Iceland) but it's good to know this in advance for planning. We enjoyed the free breakfast buffet every morning and it had plenty of good options. We never had...

We stayed here as it was the closest place to sleep on our way to Jökulsárlón (travelling from Reykjavik direction). They call it a hotel but it is more like a backpacker place when it comes to standard. You have to share bath and toilet with the other rooms in the same building. They serve a fixed dinner each night...

I came just before the start of the peak season. I was given a clean room. I was informed well of where I can opt to buy dinner if I choose not to have dinner at the hotel. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very good. Of the three nights I was there, the sauna and...

This was one of the stops on my tour of Iceland and it was one of the worst. Not that that makes it terrible, it was just not that good really. It was just a one night stay and we decided on here as it had a sauna and hot tub and we wanted to relax after our glacier walk...This...

We stopped to eat here as it was the only restaurant in the surroundings. The hosts are fully aware of that. There is only one choice for eating (lasagna), we had more or less to serve ourselves, and it was absolutely tasteless. Moreover, the bill was a shock. It was twice as expensive as in the other restaurants of the...

We were booked in for 4 nights by our travel agent but we checked out after 2 nights. The rooms are fine, small but modern and clean however, the en-suite shower room is very, very small. The best part of our stay were the beds. The mattresses were conducive to a good nights sleep and when we stayed it was...

The accommodation was reasonable, but basic. It is in a remote location and set at the base of a mountain. Primary reason for 2 star review is the dinner. There was no choice on the menu, the food was poor and the price was extortionate.

Cute town with turfed roof church. There is limited accommodation in the area. No lift to the rooms on the first floor so bit of a pain carrying suitcases up. No en suite bathroom. Dinner very expensive for what you get (assume due to remote location). Overall not quite worth it for the price but pretty setting and everyone was...
