Our family really enjoyed our stay at this guest house. Our room was a little small, but airy and bright with a great view of the fjord. Our children (ages 5 and 7) did the 'Horse Lesson' one morning, which was a perfect introduction to Icelandic horses for little kids who aren't ready for a proper riding tour. The common...

The moment you enter the guesthouse, it feels warm, friendly and welcoming. From the bathrobes in your room to the fully equipped bathrooms to the breakfast and the take yourself bar in the living room. Having a shared bathroom means not needing to share it with your roommates, because there was always a free one and it felt like a...

Although it is not near city centre, we enjoy very much our two night stays at this place. The room is clean with decent space. Share bathrooms are not a problem since there are plenty of them. Check in was smooth and informative. Breakfast has good variety. Dinner was superb! We did try horse riding next door which was very...

This was THE BEST place I stayed while in Iceland, I wish I could have stayed more nights. The rooms kind of have a college dorm room feel about them and the bathrooms are shared. There is a sink in your room and the beds are amazingly comfortable. I didn't want to get out of bed in the morning. The...

Booked a last minute stay on our trip around the country... We were pleasantly surprised and content with the quality of the guesthouse. Hosts were wonderful, breakfast was the best we had on our whole journey, rooms were clean and spending time in the geothermal hot tub was excellent. Next time we will definitely be back to take it easy...

Located just a five minute drive from town's center, the guest house is located on a fjord and the property includes stables and trails, a school and two hiking paths. Run by a lovely family who clearly care about their guests comfort, they also employ young people from around the world learning the hospitality industry. Clean, nicely decorated and comfortable....

*Sigh* Where to start? Let's say Skjaldarvik Guest House made us change our plans in Iceland. We were planning on driving around Iceland, but once we arrived to Akureyri, we fell in love. We decided we needed to stay more than one night, and that's what we did. We were there during weekdays and winter, and we were lucky to...
