This location only offered shared rooms but the bathrooms were close and very nice. the rooms were spacious and it was nice to also have a sink in the room. The only disappointment was the breakfast didn't have any eggs and bacon. staff was very...More
All around lovely place. Staff is very nice. I loved the optional wake up call if the Northern Lights are on! Special thanks to Lee who gave us lots of details on which road to take across the highlands and it was all correct.

Thanks for asking, but I am not the innkeeper. My wife and I were simply guests at Skjaldarvik. We are familiar enough with Akureyri to say that if you are coming from Reykjavik, you will pass by Skjaldarvik before you reach Myvatn and Dettifoss. If you are arriving at the airport in Akureyri, it would be a little bit easier to go to Myvatn and Dettifoss first.
You are going to love it!
