Very clean shared bathrooms. Also the living room was very relaxing and of course the outer hot pot with the astonishing view was something I won't forget. The breakfast was very rich, also with local products to try.

We absolutely loved staying at the Skjaldarvik Guest House. When we booked we were quite nervous to stay in lodging without a private bathroom (especially traveling with our 2 kids). After arriving all our fears were put to ease. The rooms are nice, the bathrooms were perfect (never had to wait to use and immaculate), and the food absolutely amazing!...

We stayed here for two nights and had a great time! The guesthouse is a bit outside Akureyri in the countryside. The whole guesthouse is well decorated, many lovely details all around. Our room was modern and reasonably large, with a little sink in the room. Showers and toilets were always clean when we were there. During the night, it...

From the upscale hotels in reykjavik to small but beautiful cabins in Kalda, this guesthouse still beat them all! What made this place so special were the extremely warm and helpful attitudes of the staff(from employee who met us at the door to give a tour, the reception, and Elisa(?I'm not sure how she spells it! But she was our...

Skjaldarvík provided exactly the calm, relaxing atmosphere we were looking for after a long day's drive, and the friendly welcome that put us at our ease at once. I particularly appreciated the quick tour of the guesthouse that Dísa gave when we arrived, as it helped us get our bearings and decide what to do first -- soak in the...

We booked a couple nights at this guesthouse based on the reviews I read on trip advisor, and it was a great move on my part. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the rooms are comfortable and the morning breakfast is plentiful. The guesthouse sits on the fjord, and offers beautiful views of the water as well as the mountains...

I stayed at Skjaldarvik Guest house with my two grown-up kids during a winter trip in Iceland and it was the best accomodation we had. Large clean rooms. Fantastic bathrooms. A very confortable lounge with a view to the fjord. Plentiful coffee and tasty breakfast selection. We all loved the hot tub (open till 11 pm). And I should not...

In april 2016 we stayed at Skjaldarvik Guest House for a week (diving trip). A cozy, familial place in the middle of nowhere. Geese, horses, dogs, wide grassland, the beautiful fjord and the mountains. Very creative interior, clean, comfortable beds and areas to relax, tasty food - every detail is done with a lot of love. The pool outside is simple,...

We LOVED this place! It is perfect for exploring Akeyuri and the surrounding areas. The decor is incredible - all upcycled materials. It was so clean and comfortable and the staff were amazing. They had a northern lights wake-up service - and yes, we did see the northern lights. The hot tub was awesome and the mountain and fjord views...
