Beautiful rooms ,even when it had a main road in front of the hotel ,I felt not bothered by any noise. The view of my room in the 3rd level faced the local swimming pool. It still offered a nice scenery of the mountains covered in snow. Reception and restaurant service was very nice . Breakfast has been perfect. From... More

Spent two nights at this hotel. Very modern room, nice size, great buffet breakfast. Walking distance to everything Akureyri has to offer. Ragnhildur, at the front desk, was efficient, pleasant, helpful and good -humored. She answered any and all questions and offered great suggestions. Only uncomfortable thing about this hotel is the bathroom set-up. Sliding glass door for the sink/toilet... More

WE enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was clean and simple. Hotel was a short downhill walk to the center of town. Restaurants were ample and close to the center of town.If one does not want to climb up the hill buses throughout Akureyri are free. Ask at the front desk for a schedule.

This is a very beautiful hotel in a quirky town. Upon arrival staff was very helpful and the room was adorable. If requesting one bed - be advised that it will be two smaller beds put together, but other than that the room was stunning. You can also walk next door to the local pool/spa to enjoy. Beware - the... More

It was very easy to get to. Very central to everything. The rooms were bigger than what we had been used to. Very clean!!! The town pool was across the street and very nice. It also had mini golf and small go carts for small children. I wish we would have spent more time in the beautiful city!!!!

Stayed one night in Icelandair Hotel Akureyri and found accommodations to be of first rate quality with no disturbing noise. Trip was on a self drive tour arranged by Nordic Visitor and this was one of, if not, the best hotels on the 15 day tour. Room was large by Icelandic standards, full bath amenities, nice firm beds, great breakfast... More

Nice atmosphere, nice tooms and service. However, quite basic. Breakfast is fine. Need to walk 10 min to downtown. I suggest to take local buses, which are complimentary. There are no many options inAkureyri. Works for 1-2 nights.

I really enjoyed this hotel and the town was superb. Couldn't beat seeing the Northern Lights from the parking lot! But we had a private tour scheduled for our group with a local provider, and the lights put on quite a show for us. Lovely modern rooms, friendly people in the bar on a Friday night... Akureyri is a charming town, but this is not a charming hotel. It is probably the largest one in Akureyri, and was crowded with groups. They clearly can’t handle the numbers, and seemed very short-staffed, leading to poor service and a seeming lack of caring on the part of the over-worked staff. The rooms look modern, but are impractical and... More
