We stopped for one night in the homely Akra Guesthouse in February. Whilst there was a heavy snowstorm outside we were toasty warm in our triple room (one of five bedrooms that are let). There's a shared bathroom on the first floor and a toilet on the ground floor. We enjoyed a great selection of breakfast options (cereal, smoked salmon,...

The owner was very friendly. The room was clean and very comfortable. The bathroom had everything you need. The breakfast was varied and good: tomato, cheeses, butter, jelly, raw fish, eggs... This is a house with 5 rooms, two toilet (one bathroom) and living room with fridge, microwave and something to boil water. The owner lives there, so is easy...

We didn't get a chance to stay at this guesthouse due to a change of plans. Aka Guesthouse was very flexible and helpful to our requests. We appreciate how accommodating they were and would recommend them on customer service alone.

We arrived at this guesthouse and the hostess was very nice and very friendly and we had a good chat with her. We were so lucky to have stayed there just after some other guests left and we had the whole house to ourselves. Everything was spotless and the accommodation itself was in a quiet place as it was further...

We were greeted quite warmly by our hostess. She showed us to our room and gave us the lowdown on the house. She was kind enough to give my husband her laptop so he could get some work done. There is not much to see or do in Akranes, but our lovely stay in the Akra Guesthouse made up for...

I made this reservation on booking.com. I stayed here for one night on my way to Borgarnes on a tour of Western Iceland. It is quite a small guest house and quite quaint. The owner is a friendly lady who was welcoming on our arrival. I booked a single room with two twin beds. the house was full during my...

We stayed here for two rainy days and it felt as if we had discovered a real sanctuary. The hostess was just the nicest person ever and we felt as if we were staying in the home of a friend. The owners live downstairs (in the basement, really) and the upper two floors of this historic old house are given...

This guesthouse is really someone's home and the family lives in the basement. There are several rooms upstairs, including at least one single room, and there is one shared bathroom. The rooms are nice, the owner is extremely friendly and welcoming, and it is located right in town (although the town is very small). I prefer something that is a...

“I believe that the rooms all have different prices because the bed count and size varies a lot. Just ask ahead. The two littlest rooms are in front above the street and there was some street noise, but town went to bed quite early and it wasn't a problem.”
