The location of the hostel is very good, close to Kamppi (the bus station), which is very convenient for travelling from St. Petersburg. The room was clean and beds in it were comfortable. There was no soap in the bathroom, which was strange, but it was not a big deal.

This is student accommodation really, but we were there in the holiday season. The rooms are basic and small but clean and while towels and linen are provided soap is not. In the room there was a basic kitchen (cooker and fridge) so you could self cater if you were on a tight budget. Being student accommodation there were of...

loved it! Big room with small kitchen (we only really used the refrigerator). Staff was very accommodating, we ate breakfast for euro 7.50 (not a lot of choice but does the trick, give me coffee and orange juice and I'm pretty happy). First day no one else on our floor, but the halls can echo with noise.

I've been in this place some years ago when they charged reaonable 30€ for single and 45€ for double room private bath which has been up now to 55/75€ which I think it's by far our of any reason: remember that this is a hostel!! At the same time (on weekends) the Hilton Kalastatorppa is sold for 75€ (more remote,...

Stay 1 night in this accommodation and found it to be ok. I agree with previous reviews as far as value goes. Helsinki is expensive for accommodation so this is a good option if you are on a budget. The location is about a 20 walk to the train station. The port for the Tallink ferry is further so you...

Affordable and quite close to the City Center. Only three Stars, since the conditions are only ok. You can't open the windows in your room and wifi is only available at a crowded community room. The fridge and the stove in the room are nice to have.

A great place to stay in Helsinki without pinching your pocket is the Dommus Academia hostel. The place has the dual advantage of being a hotel as well as a small apartment. The bathrooms are attached. The rooms are furnished decently and contain all the equipment, gadgets and amenities required for a comfortable stay. The hostel boasts of a swimming...

Domus Akademica is well located in central Helsinki. Staff are very helpful and accommodating, and the rooms are very clean, with good beds, attached bath and a small kitchenette. The use of the swimming pool and sauna is a bonus, though the men's timing is a bit late in the morning. My stay was very short, and this was an...

Great value hostel (£25 or less) in an expensive city. Rooms were spacious (2 - 4 beds) with their own oven, hob, fridge and freezer which is great (some rooms have pans but you can borrow from the downstairs kitchen). The biggest bonus of this hostel is that it has a sauna and pool if you can get up early...
