Certificate of Excellence
What is Certificate of Excellence?
TripAdvisor gives a Certificate of Excellence to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers.
This place is a truly unique experience and adventure. Paul and Debbie run a seamless operation, the tents/cabins and facilities are very clean and accommodating. Can't wait to go back!!!
Be prepared to walk some hills, however that should be expected.

Please let us know if you have additional questions. We would love to have you stay with us. I will send you some articles and reviews. Be sure to read the first link: trip advisor. Written by previous guests, they tell us this is the most helpful to describe our little slice of paradise!
Thank you for the interest.

I believe this would be a good choice for you.
We have camped all over southern Africa and youth hosteled in Europe so we are also comfortable with some roughing it. This hardly qualifies as roughing it unless you are really a Hilton recluse type (go to the resort hotel and not leave).
We are in our 60s but never rented a golf cart on this island. Walking is easy. The ability to cook our own food to save is a big plus and this is well set up. There are two places very very close to the ferry to Water Island. One is upscale and very expensive but only 50 yards from the ferry. (This is Gourmet Gallery, Trip Advisor did not like grocery stores but it is reviewed on Yelp.) The other is perhaps 1/3 mile away, a Pueblo. Not as nice an experience but it had most things. You might go to Pueblo and then finish at Gourmet Gallery. Check how far the walk is. All groceries are expensive in St. Thomas.
Back to Water Island: I am sure other reviews tell you what a superb place it is. Honeymoon Beach has some snorkeling and resident turtles who are used to people and tend to move away, not liking much attention. There are other locations you can walk to without too much trouble to swim or snorkel and locals are extraordinarily helpful. Have a super trip.
