The boat is nice, but it's a bit run down and the breakfast is simple and served on tables that are not made up (just a table cloth and some Crumbs from previous guests). Almost no guests left at breakfast, but with only one person there he didn't seem to have time to look after it.

I do not want to give an average review, I would like to give a rating of good for this hotel but unfortunately there is no option available to do this. i would not rate it as very good. The hotel is in an old ship that really catches the eye. Rooms are also modelled on the same lines. The...

I have been here for 5 days during an international conference on Biosensors. It was the best experience of being here. We enjoyed all basic facilities here. Prices are also similar to Scandinavian or other hotels. You have advantage of living sightseeing in near by areas specially Liseberg Park and other surrounding locations.

great central location, great staff, comfortable bed. Very nice and neat interior, cosy environment. I had a lot of fun. Also the bathroom is very clean. however something to add is that you will need to bring your own tooth brush and pastes. overall recommend, would go again

Reception is open between 7-23. Staff is very friendly, I had to stay longer due to Lufthansa strike and they were very flexible. Wi Fi works very good and it is for free, so I think the hotel is also suitable for business trips. Central location, close to the shopping mall and around 20 Minutes’ walk to Haga. Remote control...

Stayed at the Barken Viking Hotel ship for two nights whilst working in the city - chosen as it was central and within easy walk of the city sights. The first problem, totally my fault, was the sheer lack of parking close by - made worse by road works around the Nordstad centre for parking that made the satnav go...

I booked this hotel for the 1 night I spent in Gothenburg. I wanted a unique experience. The location itself isn't bad- it's directly across from a mall and the historic area of gothenburg. The hotel is cute from the outside, but really lacks what most mid-level hotels offer. The rooms are small, but adequate for a 1-night stay. The...

Sleeping on a ship is not a typical hotel accommodation. Therefore I found this as something unique and fun to stay. Hotel is as well as located in very near downtown distance. Being in a harbour and right in front of Gothenburg's Opera gives a nice opportunity for walks.

Staying at a sail boat seems like a nice stay with a theme. Staying at Hotel Barken Viking late autumn is not. The hotel looks nice from the outside but the inside shows mark of long use without any big maintenance. In late October most of the hotel has closed down including restaurant and bar. There is no access to...
