Every detail has been thought through, this hotel is a pleasure from start to finish. Relative to the cost of everything else in Sweden it is very good value for money. There are a few good places to eat and drink close by and its only a short walk to the old town. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The Hotel Rival was one of the trendiest, nicest hotels I have had the pleasure of staying at. The service level of the staff was excellent, the concierge and their recommendations were spot on, and you just have a great feeling staying in the hotel. It is not small by any means, owned by Benny from Abba with a 500...

I did not find out until I got back home that this hotel is owned by ABBA members, so my perception of it was not shaded by my love of this famous Swedish outfit, so here is an objective view. The interiors and common areas are truly fantastic, I especially loved the huge chandeliers and divans in which one can...

the hotel is lovely, good location, great decor, nice rooms, and little added extras that are great touches such as the 'pillow menu' and free dvd library and cd's. The beds were fantastically comfortable, but strangely I had really bad nights sleep for the 5 nights I was there (my colleagues who I was travelling with also didn't sleep well...

Very good standard hotel. Trendy, fresh and comfortable rooms with everything you'd expect from a top hotel. Nice robes, excellent beds. Great bar and a fantastic breakfast that is available til 11:30 even at weekends. Hotel has parking available also. Excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Location is not too bad, but a bit of a walk from major sights. Overall,...

Located in a nice little square in Sodermalm, the largest of all 14 Stockholm islands, this hotel is really something special. Across the street, a citybikes station ( a good option ). Around the corner, a currency exchange office, with good rates. Nice restaurants within walking distances. The room is creative, spacious, and well decorated. Free wi-fi and dvd player,...

Stayed at Hotel Rival two nights and really enjoyed it. The room was gorgeous - the bed and duvet were super comfy. I loved the in-room movies and CDs! Such a nice touch. The bathroom had a rainfall shower and a separate tub which was great. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel had a very cool...

I was only in Sweden for just fifteen hours on this trip - eight of them spent in this hotel but its left a lasting impression. The staff (even at 2am in the morning) were efficient, friendly and helpful. The room was compact but perfectly set out, with the teddy bears a really cute touch. Having had four beds in...

Stayed here in June 2012 as part of our Scando Honeymoon. Although no room upgrade or anything special was offered to us for our special occasion, the room was nice and clean and the guys on the front desk were super helpful. The hotel location is great, not in the touristy bit, but really close to the metro and walking...

Staying in Mariatorget

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariatorget
This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.
