I had a great stay here. Stayed in a single room which was adequate for one person. Rooms were clean. Reliable wi-fi. Hotel very close to the metro. Loved the in-room movies. Finally watched Casablanca which was long overdue. The neighborhood is safe and clean. Breakfast buffet had a great selection and you could also order warm items a la...

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst on a city break. Very cool boutique hotel with amazing decoration, and attention to detail. The history of the building is interesting and explains a lot about how it has got to how it looks now. Check in was a very quick affair, which is just what you need after a long day...

Stayed for 3 nights, good location close to old town, right next to the metro station. Rooms are spacy with good beds, nicely decorated with a touch of sweden. Bathroom a bit small but Slippers and bathrobe in room. Nice touch is some good CDs with music and DVDs with movies in the room. Nice area with free coffea/ tea...

This hotel is by far one of the best we have ever stayed in. Yes the room was small but so well equipped that it didn't matter at all. The breakfast is so good with everything you could wish for all fresh and well presented. On arrival they found out it was our anniversary and they gave us a bottle...

Rival is my favorite hotel in this part of stockholm. The rooms are quite modern, spacious and clean. They are all equipped with dvd player with free movies service, usb plugs everywhere, plenty of power plugs in the room. This time i have a room with a balcony and a great view from the 5th floor. Hotel also offers free...

I stayed here for one night on a business trip. It is a wonderfully colourful, bright hotel that hints at Broadway and the theatre. Probably the fact that it's partly owned by Benny Andersson of Abba !! The staff were very helpful at check-in. My colleague and I had a very good modern modern Swedish dinner in the bistro -served...

We stayed for 3 nights whilst visiting Stockholm for the speedway GP. We enjoyed dinner here 3 years ago and promised that we would stay here on our next visit. Brilliant hotel - we stayed in a standard room, it was small but perfectly formed, great Swedish design with a window in the shower to let in natural light. The...

It was a beautiful hotel with cool staffs and delicious breakfast. The bar was also nice. However the room was cold (I guess everywhere's same in January). You can find nice bakery and cafe near the hotel.

This hotel is in the side of a quiet square, but there is nothing quite about the reception. Warm and friendly. The bar area and entrance are also very lively at night, with it turning into a hot spot for the hipster crowd. Rooms are not massive, but well maintained and some have little balconies over looking the quiet rear....

We had five nights at the Rival and enjoyed them all immensely. The staff were wonderful; very helpful and always said hello. Our room was on the smaller side, as noted by other reviewers, but this wasn't much of an issue for us; the bathroom was immaculate, the room had all the amenities you'd expect and the bed was comfortable....

Staying in Mariatorget

Neighbourhood Profile
This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.
