I stayed at the Gustav Vasa with my Mother and what would have been a decent experience was ruined when her suitcase was stolen from our hotel room. Our room was on the ground floor and faced a secured courtyard with no outside access. My Mother awoke in the middle of the night and cracked the window for air which...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend in October 2003. I reserved the room through the hotel's website (we got a confirmation by email) and called them 2 times beforehand just to make sure that everything is alright because we were arriving Friday late afternoon, to which I was assured that our room will be ready and waiting,...

This hotel must have changed hands since the early reviews. It is now a dump. We checked in, April 06, to find an unheated room cluttered with poor quality furniture, and a view of a rusty bike at eye level through the window. We asked for the heating to be put on, we were ignored. When we tried to get...

Shabby and dingy are the two words which come to mind when describing our recent experience with this hotel. The room was small; and the bathroom, the smallest I've ever seen. The breakfast offered good variety, but the quality was not high. An important reason for us choosing this hotel was that they offered parking; but when we arrived, we...

We stayed for two nights at this conveniently located Hotel and we were not impressed. We didn't get the double room as booked, but a twin on the third floor. This turned out to be the smaller half of a former large room. It was wide enough for two beds and a little bedside table inbetween. The bathroom was as...

A wonderful hotel, located only 50m from the underground train network. Walking distance to lots of sites but if you want to preserve your energy then the train is a simple option to get straight to the action. The staff were amazing, helping us with maps and information, and giving suggestions for activities and meals out. Beautiful and old, our...

A very plain exterior does not reveal the nicely appointed interior, wood floors and wood work of this very modest hotel. Antique elevator and spiraling staircase tell of a older, grander time when this hotel was very stylish. Elegant yet compact, the rooms are quiet and comfortable.

Great hotel, very friendly staff. Always looking out for me as a traveller on my own. Lots of helpful advise about where to go and what to eat (try the Greek and/or Italian restaurants around the corner) Very friendly lady with a lovely dog both greeted me heartily on my return each evening. if you want to experience the Swedish...

Staying in Vasastan

Neighbourhood Profile
Vasastan
Vasastan is one of those neighborhoods that almost looks too good to be true. It has the winning combination of a central location, tranquility, and beautiful buildings – housing sophisticated bars and eateries – that makes this neighborhood Stockholm’s most sought-after place to live. If walking through this area makes you feel like walking through a fairy tale or picture book it’s no surprise, as it’s actually the film set of the famous Swedish children story Karlsson-on-the-Roof. No matter what season, Vasastan manages to impress in the sunshine, covered in snow and won’t even lose its charm when soaked in rain.
