Small bunk rooms, a bit dingy and low ceilings but all adds to the unique setting of staying on a boat. We bought dinner one night and it was amazing, big portion of really tasty food, far better than some of the restaurants in town for a better price! Despite this I will not stay here again due to the...

Pretty much a hostel but the place had a lot of character. Something slightly different compared to other places! The ceilings were a little on the low side but that was to be expected. Very friendly staff! Clean as well. Slightly small room but again to be expected. Maybe more expensive rooms have more room?

The low ceiling of the boat reminds you that you've entered into an interesting dimension. I booked a single room on upper deck. It's really nice though facing the land. The space is comfortable, and enough to have a friend over for a beer at night. The reception guy is the nicest! he'd help you with anything :).

We stayed one night in one of the larger hotel rooms, which meant standard size compared with regular hotel room, but for a boat cabin really spacious. Bathroom was in suite. The best with this boat hotel was the atmosphere and the location. Breakfast (included for hotel guests) was good, but nothing extraordinaire. Only negative was a bit of mold...

What a nice chance to try something different and book an accommodation on a ship! I had some doubts when reading the bad reviews, but they didn’t turn out to be true. There was a warm and cosy welcome when arriving on a chilly February day. We got a small, cramped, but very clean room facing the river, so the...

I ended up staying on the Red Boat because there weren't any other hostels available. It ended up being a unique experience, and the people working there were friendly, but it was a bit overpriced and not really the best place to meet other travelers. It's also a bit of a walk away from a lot of the attractions in...

Really lovely place. One old and beautiful woody tuned boat and a newer boat. Really cosy, original to stay at least for one night in Stockholm. Reamins really close to the city center of Stockholm. Stayed there one night in 2008 and once in May 2013

I visited here for a few nights as part of a stop over from Copenhagen. The boat looks lovely from the outside. My room (40) was in the white boat and was bigger than I was expecting, with a lovely view over the water to the city. The rooms are a little dated and could do with some renovation but...

The radiator in the room keeps you at about 56 degrees Fahrenheit tops. I went to bed wearing my shoes and coat. The window doesn't close all the way and might as well be made of paper because you will hear the water slapping against your wall all night. Good luck sleeping without at least 2 tranquilizers. The staff are...

Me and my boyfriend decided to stay here for two nights during our travelling trip around Europe. We arrived at 1:30am due to a delayed flight from Paris and we were worried this would create an issue as the front doors closed at 12pm. We rang the doorbell and we were politely invited in. Absolutely gorgeous dining room/living room/bar/reception. The...

Staying in Mariatorget

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariatorget
This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.
