Certificate of Excellence
The Lord Nelson Hotel is an intimate, friendly and pleasant hotel right in the heart of Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s Old Town. You find the hotel on the main street, close to the city centre and all the capital’s sights and attractions. But the hotel itself is also an attraction, as it contains a unique, private collection of maritime antiques – passionately gathered through the decades by the owner family Bengtsson. All rooms have been designed and decorated to resemble cabins on a ship. The building dates from the 17th century and at just under six metres wide, this property is undoubtedly Sweden’s narrowest hotel. In the Summer time the hotel guests can enjoy a Beautiful view on Poop Deck, the roof top terrace. The Continental Breakfast has an organic a fairtrade profile, and the hotel offers free coffe and tea service in the library on the first floor.

Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.

Hotel is in an excellent location in the old town and just a couple of minutes walk to the main square. They have put a lot of effort into theming the whole building and it is vert interesting to take a walk around and look about, it's a bit like staying in a museum. My room was

Lord Nelson is a wonderful picturesque hotel. I had a room for one person and the room was just large enough. Had small (twin) bed, desk and chair and full bathroom. Nicely decorated in nautical theme. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved that this hotel was right on the

This is a very picturesque hotel in the middle of the old town, so location is good, walking distance to everywhere. Actually I think that is better stay in a hotel near by the old town and not inside. The room was extremely small, if you have big suitcases probably you wont have

Hi. I see that there is a simple breakfast included at the hotel. Are there any proteins (egg, cheese, meat) or is it really just bread and such. Thanks!
Hello. At Lord Nelson Hotel we serve a continental breakfast which is included in the price: boiled eggs, ham, cheese, bread, cereal, yoghurt with coffee, tea and orange juice. Welcome to Stockholm and to The Lord Nelson Hotel. Regards Annika H

Hi, I will be staying with you in July (15 to 20) and would like to ask about bike hire. Are there places nearby where bikes can be hired or is there a city bike scheme and if so can they be hired by non-locals. Eve Moran
Hi Eve M. We wish you welcome to Lord Nelson Hotel in July. There is a bicycle shop in the Old Town where you can rent a bike. It is located very near the hotel at Stora Nygatan 44. They can also help you with bike maps etc. See you sson. REgars Annika Lord Nelson Hotel

Hi; thank you for all your kind replies. when I arrive on Wed April 29th, is it possible to request a 'quiet room', perhaps on an upper floor on a side street? Is it possible that you have converter plugs available for electronic things? Angie Williams
Hej, Our pleasure! Yes of course, I have updated Your booking with the information about the kind of room you prefer. Unfortunately we do not have any converter plugs available at the moment for our guests to borrow, but we do have some for sale, and you can just inquire about it when checking in. Looking forward to welcoming you soon at Lord Nelson! Annika Höft

hi again: i'll be staying with you for three nights starting april 29. can you tell me a little more about your 'shuttle bus' or 'airport transportation' from the airport to the hotel. is there a charge? do I arrange ahead of time? And then on departure, what is possible to the train station? thanks so much, angie williams
Dear Ms Williams, Thank you so much for Your inquiry. There are several different ways to get a transport to our hotel. It also depends which Airport you are arriving at, but there's no need to make any arrangements in advance. There are Airport Coaches, an Express train (if you're arriving at Arlanda) and also a regular train. There is a charge involved. On departure, you can either walk to the train station (a 10 to 15 minutes walk) or take a cab. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly if you have any other questions. We're looking forward to welcoming you at Lord Nelson Hotel! Best Regards, Annika Höft Owner and Manager
