I usually stay in Ostermalm when I am in Stockholm but always wanted to stay in Gamla Stan. I got a good rate here and stayed for a night on a business trip. It is very close to the T-Bana and Gamla Stan is easily walkable to Sodermalm & Norrmalm. The room had a very cool "classic" bedroom with a...

Great little hotel in the centre of Gamla Stan region of Stockholm, places you at the centre of sightseeing places. Rooms are on the small size, but you are in a 17th century building that has been adapted to be a hotel. Beds are soft, facilities clean. Magnificent choice of food at breakfast, both hot and cold selections, keeps you...

Computer did not work, and they could not provide us the printer for our reservations. I feel some type of written communication is necessary so we can document what had transpired. smallest to mumble stayed in a hotel that was not even able to accommodate one small carry on. There was no place to handover clothes except for very small...

Dear Sir, Thank you for your feedback on Trip advisor as well as on our web sight. I have given you a response as you have already registered a complaint on our own web sight. We chose This place because of its location and it didn't let us down. There is a pay as you stay parking lot only five minute walk from hotel, so drop your bags off in their loading zone and head over to the lot, or arrive by public transportation. The T stop is only a two or three minute walk....

On a quick trip to Stockholm, we stay here. Very conveniently located. Perfect walking distance to all the sites, ferry, palace, etc. Small room but we were only there to sleep. Very nice breakfast. Friendly staff. There is no parking, so you have to pay to park about a 20 minute walk from the hotel. I would stay here again!

Dear Guest, Thank you for the positve feedback. Regarding parking you may sometimes be lucky to find a spot closer by, but at least you can always leave luggage first as there is 5 minute parking outside the entrance and we may help you with suggestions where to find parking. Great that you liked our breakfast. Best regards , Magnus...

This hotel is in a great location in the old town in Stockholm, close to many restaurants, bars, and shops. While the room I had was quite small, it was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and looked recently renovated. The breakfast was a great surprise, with many choices of both European and North American...

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
