I stayed at Castanea for four nights and had a fantastic experience. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and enjoying my stay. Unlike most hostels that just chuck you your room card and set you off, the lady from...More

One night someone broke into the hostel, snuck into all the rooms and stole from us (seemed a bit sussed that the person knew all the hostel door codes, maybe an inside job). A few peoples belongings were taken including my iPhone and my camera,...More

We are sorry another guest took your belongings. We can certify that no one from outside came in. All guests are responsible for their own belongings, and we as a hostel always recommend you to use the lockers when staying in a dorm room. There...More

I stayed here for a week and enjoyed my stay. It's very clean and in a great area. The mattress was a bit thin, but overall it's excellent, especially on a budget. It's nice and quiet so you can sleep well. The wifi is free...More

Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home
to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central
island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small
island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous
Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit
touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting:
take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and
through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest)
