Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Great accommodation for a family of 4. Bring your own water as you can't drink the tap water. Don't rely on the general store like the website tells you to, it's horrendous. Also, unless you want to eat from the cafe on site for all your meals you might want to have all your food with you. Pool area is fun and the grounds were well kept. Resident kangaroos made it very cute. Byo bug spray!

We had a great family long weekend in a beach shack found through Air BnB. Quiet little resort with pool, walking distance to a remote beach, cafe and general store. Kangaroos and bird life at your door. Despite being Easter long weekend, the resort was quiet. We mostly had the pool to ourselves and most shacks were unoccupied.

Beautiful beach with stunning sunsets. There is a well sized sectioned off beach area for swimming and sunbathing. On either side of that 4WDs are allowed on the beach and you can see cars on the sand with keen anglers stretching for kilometres in either direction.

Shack was equipped with the necessities only so byo whatever you need to get through your stay because it’s a fair drive to the nearest store. Be prepared to pay top dollar if buying anything from the cafe or general store.
We enjoyed dinner at the cafe - large serves and good quality meals.

Stayed at an air bnb at the resort. Nice enough but getting a little shabby. One major sour taste left in my mouth and reducing a 4 star to a 3 star stay was waiting for 1hr for food at the cafe on a Friday night (which was full of drunk locals) only to be told that they’d forgotten to put my order through. Not happy. Granted they were under the pump and under staffed but no real apology. Added to that a local going off at the chef for stuffing up his order made the whole experience pretty poor.

We are on a 6-week cycling tour of South-West Western Australia. Our night at Footprints was the equal most expensive night of accommodation for our entire trip so we were expecting a night of luxury. Nothing could be further from the truth. When we arrived there as a bin full of rotting garbage in the cupboard under the sink, despite there being a sign saying there was a $25- fee for not emptying the garbage. I guess if they don't check you don't pay! Not sure how long it had been there but the cupboard space stank. We got rid pf the garbage, opened the cupboards and went for a long walk. And of course, there were no staff on site for the entirety of our stay.

The shower was very weak and the cook top had no markings and no instructions so we really struggled to get it to the temperature we needed. They provided two different types of tea and two different types of sugar but no coffee and no milk.

The restaurant/cafe was not open. I had thought I had checked this before I booked but maybe not. Their website now clearly states it is not open on the night of our stay. Not sure if this changed between our booking and arrival?

The larger of the two provided saucepans had no lid and there was no colander or similar device.

Finally the insect screen door had holes in it but that didn't really matter because it didn't shut properly anyway. And this was an environment with a lot of biting insects so we just had to keep the glass door shut.

On the plus side the bed was very comfortable and the lady was quite proactive about ensuring we could get in after their office closing time of 4:00pm.

Interestingly I wrote a near identical review to this for the accommodation booking website I had used but received no feedback or response from Footprints. I suspect that they know they are running a well below expectations establishment and don't particularly care because mugs like me keep staying there and paying the hefty tariff.

My strong recommendation would be to find somewhere else.

OMG!! AMAZING!! Under new management and it is crazy good. Rick is very helpful and accomodating and Paddy in the cafe is so so friendly and her Indonesian food is authentic and delicious. The best in WA and I eat everywhere and love my food!! The other cafe food is great too.
The place is ideal for familes and children. The accomodation in the beach shack was spotless and it has a dishwasher which is definitely a win when on holiday. I am already booking my next holiday. A great spot + the beach is a short walk away.

The hot water didn't work and all phone numbers went unanswered, when we did get someone the best we were offered was the use of showers in anther uncleaned unit and never heard from anyone again. Look the staff we dealt with were really lovely but management need to step up, ruined a rare weekend when I can get the whole family together. As a last note don't use the sofa bed for anyone over 10 and give it a good clean before you use it.

We had a fantastic experience @ Footprints over the recent long weekend. Family of 2 adults & a 4 year old. Each of us absolutely loved the resort, from the clean pool, the well-maintained property grounds, to the spacious chalets and comfortable atmosphere. We didn't have the best experience with the Café staff as they struggled to understand English, but I understand there staffing shortages everywhere at the moment.

We will definitely be back to stay again & highly recommend this accomodation to all families looking for a city break 🙌🏼

Made a booking 5 months in advance for 5 chalets for a group holiday. Gave credit card details to secure the booking, as did all parties. Spoke on phone to resort, received written confirmation of our booking.

Received email saying

" Due to an ongoing contractual agreement we are unable to confirm your reservation. We regret not being able to confirm your booking, but we simply will not have the availability to accommodate you"

We have forgone other accommodation options for our dates assuming we had this booked. Absolutely shameful conduct!

Reading other reviews, the resort appears to do this regularly, accept deposit, send written confirmation and then cancel on guests.

Is there a hotel association that regulates this sort of conduct?

Great accommodation. Bed very comfortable and everywhere clean. Had benefit of a downstairs toilet and also washing machine. It was lovely having the kangaroos visit every evening. Phil was a fantastic host. Only 5 minutes to the beach. Good sized swimming pool.
