We stayed for a few nights just after Christmas. The hotel is located close to tivoli gardens and the centre of the city, so really handy for exploring Copenhagen on foot. Although our room overlooked the main road, it wasn't particularly noisy. It was quite small, but there was enough room for us. The room was beautifully furnished, as was...

The location is excellent walking distance to most attractions. Rooms were clean and fully equipped. Really liked the Danish decor of the hotel and rooms. Good breakfast and selection. Would go back and also recommend.

First the stuff I found a little disappointing. The room (#104, a superior double) was very pokey, and while it did contain some lovely pieces of 50s/60s Danish furniture, the small space was finished blandly and arranged without much artfulness. The room was suffocatingly hot. It must have been about 25°C or 30°C, with no way to control the temperature...

Short walk from the central train station, Tivoli and Nyhavn shopping area. It is very nice to stay in a place that has real character, instead of yet another forgettable clone chain hotel. But being unique did not come on the expense of being modern, clean, efficient and practical. Service was genuinely warm and welcoming, and the mid century Danish...

I have to say at the outset that had we had a room at the front of this building I think I wouldn't have enjoyed my stay as much. However, we had a room at the back and it was very very quiet. What made this hotel for me was the staff - they are probably some of the best...

Located right at the city hall square, you cannot get a better location in Copenhagen. Staff friendly and helpful. Room small but clean and comfortable. Loved the shower. Will probably make this my preferred hotel in Copenhagen from now on.

We booked directly through the hotel web site and based on the site's photos thought we were booking a retro Danish designed room. The foyer certainly delivers on that expectation, however the room felt small and dated, particularly the bathroom. Bed comfort was debatable and the floor coverings spartan. The bedside Bluetooth speaker was most welcome though. Staff were polite...

We spent 3 nights at the hotel and loved it. We had one of the 'sixties' style rooms on the top floor. Whilst the hotel is central it was really quiet and great not to have the distance buzz of turned off aircon. Whilst there was limited heating in the room it quickly warmed up and we didn't even need...

The rooms are pleasant and have all the facilities one would expect but we found it very noisy being on the very busy Hans C Anderson Boulevard. I guess the ear plugs on the bed side table were a give away. The room was a bit on the small side and we needed to keep our cases under the bed...

An old style Copenhagen design hotel that is extremely well located and has the most lovable staff. You feel right at ease at check in and the friendly atmosphere along with simple, elegant and smart arrangement is hard to beat.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Probably the only spot on Earth where you can sit in, rest in, sleep in and admire so many pieces of Danish mid-century vintage furniture. Hotel Alexandra is a small, authentic, boutique hotel in Copenhagen - just around the corner of the City Hall Square, the Latin Quarter, the main shopping area and Tivoli Garden. Hotel Alexandra has over the past years collected a large collection of the world famous Danish mid-century vintage furniture and decorated the rooms with them. The rooms also have textiles, wallpapers and other gems that take you back in time to experience living like the design loving Danes did it in the 50’s and 60’s. As soon as you step into the Hotel Alexandra, you step into a time bubble – you can relax in the lobby, where during evening hours you can put on your favourite vinyl record from our selection, enjoy a free glass of wine and take a moment to take a closer look at one of our many designer books from our lobby library, all the while being surrounded by the finest Danish designer furniture. ... more   less
