Summary: up-scale hotel, great location, architecturally interesting building, cosy feel, cool bar, great service but limited views of the harbor because of the architectural style of the building. But I would still recommend it. It had real Danish character, better than a cookie cutter modern business hotel. I was in Copenhagen for two different events (romantic break with hubby then...

My wife and I stayed at the Admiral on a city break - it was an excellent hotel in a just about perfect location, just around the corner from the tourist trap Nyhavn. We hopped off the metro from the airport at Kongens Nytorv, walked down through Nyhavn and turned left - it takes about 5 minutes to ealk it....

We stayed here for a weekend break in Copenhagen and had a great time. Our room was fairly small but nicely decorated and furnished and immaculately clean. Bed was very comfy (I'm very fussy about this!). The overall feel of the hotel is that it is a well oiled machine. Excellent location for exploring all that the city has to...

I stayed for business for 3 nights. Very busy at breakfast (I had to share a table with someone else). Nobody cleaned the tables between guests. Breakfast itself was very weak in quality. Then the reception service: somewhat casual. Unable to help. Rooms: very low quality materials. Had to request ear plugs. The only plus I saw was the location...

I was only at this hotel for two nights but were very satisfied with the location ambiance and service. A good choice for business travelers as it is clean comfortable and well located. the breakfast was well served and ample and the service quite good for a busy hotel. Recommended!

Great location and very helpful staff. They assisted with all queries promptly and effectively. It is a big hotel and appears to always have conference people staying or attending on site. As such the reception can get busy at times. Also although the breakfast spread is very good and comprehensive it can be difficult to get a seat at certain...

For the price I got at Amoma (€ 460 for three nights incl. breakfast as compared to the € 730 excl. breakfast stipulated by all other companies for the same period), we were satisfied with our stay. Our fourth floor room was large, tastefully decorated and hyggelig. It faced the street, but was quiet, and we had a lovely view...

We got a really nice room overlooking the waterfront. It had some impressive old beams in the room which added character to an already decent room, it did make it intersting getting up in the night though

This is a very noisy place! You have to keep the windows open because of the heat. All hours of the night loud banging and then the band started playing at 10:30 and they informed us it was going to go on til 1am. It sounded like it was right next door. We thought we would eat in the restaurant,...

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
