We stayed for a long weekend mid-December and arrived just after lunchtime but were warmly welcomed into the restaurant where there were still many tables of local diners finishing their multi-course Christmas lunch. We had a wonderful lunch of plaice with lingonberries, which gave a lovely flavour. We had a really good evening meal too. Our room with a harbour...

We stayed at the Admiral Hotel during a 4-day visit to Copenhagen in the summer. I selected the Admiral months before based on TA reviews and travel book recommendations. The hotel was fine except for the noise. On the positive side, the hotel is centrally located and close to all the attractions of Copenhagen. It is also a couple blocks...

We stayed here for a long week end to go to the Christmas market. It was an ideal location, the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of fresh fruit, bacon, eggs local bread and of course Danish pastries! The service was excellent and the hotel design very stylish with lots of beams. The...

The lobby is clean and updated and the staff was very friendly. We were able to upgrade our room to a larger room to a lower floor but the front desk person was honest enough to tell us that there would be a holiday party going until about 3 am downstairs so we would be better off in a smaller...

We stayed here one night. It was comfortable, clean with spacious rooms. The bathroom could have done with an upgrade but the beds were comfortable and evidently the source of much pleasure if our neighbours' noises were anything to go by! (you'll have gathered that the soundproofing wasn't great). The tea and coffee making facilities were a bonus and the...

This is certainly one of the better hotels in Copenhagen on several counts. It is well located and just far enough away from the bustle of Storget. It captures the essence of nautical Copenhagen in that it is located by the water and has been renovated from a warehouse. The rooms are fine, the restaurant is highly recommended, and the...

A very nice hotel in a central location. Came for a business conference in the Hotel. The food provided was excellent in the restaurant at lunch as was breakfast. The room was very nice and the bed was comfy. I didn't go for the sea view which I think would have made it even better.

The Admiral Hotel is always our first choice when staying in Copenhagen. This time we had a standard room. For a standard room - it was actually quite large and with everything you need: comfortable bed and a seating area. Unfortunately this time there was a very bad odour in the bathroom which we reported to reception and they sent...

First stay at this hotel - usually use an International chain but the Admiral was within easy walking distance of client offices and a restaurant for later. We were upgraded to "Junior Suite" which led to some later debate about the layout: these are largish rooms with the entry level having the bathroom and a sitting area plus desk etc...

A tremendous hotel, located near Nyhavn, short walk to the Little Mermaid, Very clean and very hospitable. However the breakfasts I have had the last 2 mornings.....cold scrambled eggs and shards of streaky bacon left me bewildered. This is the Land of Danishhhh for goodness sake. Get a grip Chef!

This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
