Had a few reservations about staying here after reading other reviews but we had a great time. The location is really good. Just round the corner from Nyhavn, The Palace and only 15-20 minutes walk to most other attractions. We walked everywhere and it wasn't a problem. The buffet breakfast was huge and well stocked with unlimited coffee. It was...

Stayed there 3 nights with some friends from Australia and Germany - All loved this place. Parking for our car - fee and possibilities are not good. Very good position close to everything. Outdoor restaurant is perfect.

Stayed at the Admiral for 5 nights, the room and stay were average at best. It was very difficult to sleep as the room was so hot and the noise outside made keeping the window open less than desirable. The washroom was dated and it took a long time for the hotel staff to bring anything to the room. We...

We stayed three nights and recommend this hotel especially for its excellent location, three minutes walk from Nyhavn, Amaliepalace, etc. Also 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes taxi from Osterport railway station, from which there are frequent and cheap trains to the airport. Breakfast is really fantastic for its quality and abundance. General decoration is very attractive, all with maritime...

We stayed at the Admiral 3 nights before getting on our cruise. The location is great. Yes, the rooms are small but work and the bathroom was good. The public areas were very nice. The breakfast was great, lots to choose from. The inside bar was very nice and you could eat there if you didn't want to go to...

You would come to this hotel for the location ( between Nyhaven and the castle, right on the water), not necessarily for the comfort. We did not have a room with a view out to the Harbour, and perhaps that made it also less exciting. The room was ok size-wise, but had few amenities and basic bathrooms. It faced the...

this old multiple story grainery ooze with history. The giant original wooden pilars and beams dominate the lobby and restaurant as well as add to the room decor. Great evening restaurant, though the service lacked a bit. The breakfast was, however, quite uninspired and did not match the standard to be expected of such a rare hotel.

I have stayed at Admiral Hotel a number of times and like the location and historic nature of the hotel. However, I find the rooms rather disappointing and in need of a total re-design. The interiors are dull and dated. There has been no effort to blend the room design into the wonderful features of this building. What happened to...

They sure are. My head hit one ... I should have been annoyed but the view was so great I forgot to even mention it to the reception desk!!! This is a well located (for tourists) hotel. It is a renovated granary with large beams everywhere and a nautical theme. To be blunt, there is little that is remarkable about...

We spent a lovely sunny autumn weekend here. Check-in was smooth and we got the room already at noon. Our room on the 4th floor was spacious enough. Typically in Scandinavia hotels - as well as private residences - have hardwood floors, but here it was wall-to-wall carpet. The hotel would have gained one or two additional stars unless the...

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
